Part of our fence had blown over. I instantly had a flashback as this is what happened when our late Basset Barney broke his leg. You can read about it here. And see him in his cast here. So thankfully I had been taking Freddie out on a leash instead of just letting him out the door. Either of the hounds could have gotten hurt or caught a scent and took off. Really this would only be Fred, he'd be gone in a second. Gloria....no......she just doesn't go to far from me.
This is what it looked like Wednesday morning as it snowed overnight too. Yes, those are condos they built behind us in what used to be a park! Hubby was in North Bay for work when this happened so it has had to sit like this until tonight. Then he will have to go and knock it down and take it apart.
Well, until we get something rigged up for the rest of this winter (if that's what you can call this crazy weather) Freddie has to be tied up to go outside. No more running around enjoying play time in the backyard. And oh boy, is Freddie ticked!
"This sucks!" "I hate my life!!"
"Oh Fred, stop it." "It will only be for a short time."
"I don't care!!" "I'm never going outside again!"
"For gosh sakes Freddie, shut up I'm trying to sleep!"
Yesterday my computer also decided to go all wonky! Finally I just walked away until this morning. I had to go in and restore it to a previous date and this seems to have fixed things. Yippee!
Freddie, we must be twins some how! Mine and yours pouting is so similar!! BOL!! I love it! Sorry you have to potty on a leash, it stinks!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that y'all are safe and sound and didn't get hurt in this crazy weather!
~Higgins
That really sucks about the fence and thank god the dogs (or you) didn't get hurt! But....HAHAHA at the pics of Fred and Gloria!!! Priceless :)
ReplyDeleteFirst I am glad all are OK. And Fred, oh dude life is ruff. But it will get better. Keep workin the "poor pitaful me" angle, you gotta get something out of it.
ReplyDeleteHang in there.
Blessings,
Goose
Thank goodness you were taking Freddie out on a leash! The weather this year has just been crazy! You never know what to expect next!
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteWhat's with the pouting? Just be happy you get out. Besides the weather isn't conducive to long outings. Besides, my Human thought Bassets more or less liked to flop around limp like. Even when people pick y'all up, don't y'all just kind of get "limp"? ;)
Y'all come back now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Zeesh, no good. At least woo found it before any pup went on an adventure...play bows,
ReplyDeleteRA
Them condos be way purtiers then what I has to look at...da stoopids house, them my neighbors and I thinks they poisoned me.
ReplyDeleteIf my fence fell it would take my dad at least 2 years to fix.
Hang in theres Freddie, hopefully it won't be long till you can free roam.
Puddles
I'm glad no puppy was harmed! Hope it gets fixed soon so they can let out some of that energy!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your fence. Happy no one was hurt. Take care, my friend.
ReplyDeleteUgh, sorry to hear about your fence! But you can stay inside where it is nice and warm while the peeps go out and fix it!
ReplyDeleteOh that's not good! Thankfully you were using a leash. We have rockwalls that the city has built for everyones yards, which is great because the winds get really bad here. Hopefully you are able to get that fence up soon, so freddie doesn't have to be tied up for too long. :)
ReplyDeleteFred, you are quite the character! I hope you're back to running around in your yard again soon!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww that is a REAL Shame.. Sorry Freddie. Well, Dads can FIX anythingy. RIGHT? Then your life will be back to normal.
ReplyDeleteYou manage not to burst into laugh with such a drama boy around?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hope you find a solution soon.
Sorry about the fence, but boy are those picutres cute :)
ReplyDeleteXOXO ~ Cape Cod Crew
Gosh sorry to hear about your fence! I understand Freddy's frustration.. but like you said, it's only temporary and hopefully he'll be okay with it :) Hope you get it fixed soon and that you don't have anymore scary storms like that anytime soon! P.S. Super cute pictures of the pups!

Bummer about the fence, but thank goodnessno Bassets (or any other creature) was hurt. Good luck getting it fixed!
ReplyDeleteOh no! You're lucky everyone's safe
ReplyDeleteDachshund Nola
WOW! Sure glad no puppies got hurt! Freddie, hope it gets fixed soon too!
ReplyDeleteLovies, Miss Mindy
Oh dear, such a massive portion of fence to fall down too! Good job no one got hurt.
ReplyDeletePoor Fred though ;)

Wow that was quite a wind! Freddie seems to be taking it well - or not... Those pictures are hilarious!! Hope you don't have a hard time getting the fence back up or we will miss all those flying ear pictures.
ReplyDeleteSo glad everyone is okay. We have a fence like this and we've had this happen too. It's very scary. It's good to see that Fred is keeping himself busy milkin' the "my life sucks" routine. He's so cute. Poor Gloria, though.
ReplyDeleteWhen it is dark out I often have this question of "is the gate shut and the side garage door closed?" because on occasion someone has left them opened...since we live on acreage it would freak me out if the poochies got out. So I compulsively check it just to make sure.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are just too funny!
poor Freddie and poor YOU!!! Hope the fence is fixed soon and I hope you no longer have any problems with your computer!
ReplyDeleteOh wow when it rains it pours. ;) Too bad about your fence.
ReplyDeleteFred really looks upset not to be able to run free in the yard.
No more zoomies in the back yard? That is no fun!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your fence. This is really an inconvenience for you, but my goodness, Freddie is quite the drama queen (king)
ReplyDeleteAnd that is why we love him so much.
OMG! So glad that you took Fred out on his leash. We are always worried about our Siberians taking off on their own for a long run. They know how to open the glass storm door to the porch. This is not a good thing.
ReplyDeleteNina, Myshka, Sasha, Betsy, Lucy, Phoebe and Lily
Poor Barney!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm glad under this circumstance they were on a leash. And it's a good thing they weren't there when the fence toppled.
Freddie looks like a Rockstar.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee
I feel for you mate; I have the same problem. They just don't understand do they?! Deccy x
ReplyDeleteHope you get your fence fixed soon. Fred looks really fed up! At least he didn't get hurt or lost but maybe he doesn't think he would :-) - love from Magic xx
ReplyDeleteawe freddie, sorry your freedom had to be taken away, but mum needs to keep you safe! Hugs from The Emptynesters~
ReplyDeleteWoof! Woof! GREAT photo ... LOVE it!. We have the same problem with our fence ... every year we have to fix it. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteLOL those pictures are hysterical!! :D Sorry to hear about your fence, though. A whole section of our picket fence was demolished years ago during a bad rain/windstorm when our neighbor's weeping willow was uprooted and fell onto it, so I know what a nuisance a thing like that can be.
ReplyDeleteI nominated your blog for the One Lovely Blog award - stop on by to pick it up! And have a fun weekend! :)
That second to last photo had me laughing out loud!!!! Freddie looks really unhappy!
