"But why Momma?" "Why can't I go out and play?" |
Now it is done! It might not be pretty, but it works for now.
It's chicken wire we had behind the shed. Hence, the reference to chickens! Thankfully the ground wasn't completely frozen because of the up and down temperatures we've been getting.
So I finally let Freddie out without his leash. First he went over and checked out the makeshift fence.
Then...........
Gloria was back to running for her life!
They ran and played for about 15 minutes until Gloria had enough and her feet got cold. Of course Fred acted like it was the first time in his life he'd ever run free. After Gloria went in, Freddie did his last couple of circuits around the yard.
I think I could almost here the music from the movie Born Free playing in the distance. Always the drama
.....and crashed for the night! YES! We got to sit and watch our Saturday night at the movies on TCM in peace and quiet. It was great!
Sigh, the invention of dads is awesome.
ReplyDeleteAt the post above, you could see how awesome having a dad would be. Now, Fred and Gloria will live happily ever after with their new chicken wire up.
Stay tuned to next week;s Born Free episode. And remember, a dog with a Fence is a happy dog.
This report is brought to you by Haopee- a Freddie and Gloria fan.
Awww, it was wonderful of daddy to build something temporary!! There's nothing like running free in the yard -- I know. I LOVE all the photos, especially the look on Gloria's face when she's running... so, so silly!! :)

ReplyDeleteWhy is it the male bassets are such whinners. Sniffs, The HoundDogs
ReplyDeleteGlad Fred can run round off leash now! We know all about chicken wire fences here (and not just for the hens). We've been 'fenced out' of the main garden since we started digging up all the plants :-) but we do still have some garden just for us. Love from Magic xx
ReplyDeleteBOL...........Glad you two can run again!

I'm like you Dude - when we come back from our run I have extra energy left - I think my Mum is just too lazy to run me long enough - I can run way longer than her!! This is usually prime Mischief time for me - unless she puts me in the garden with Cosmo..... :)
Have fun guys,
