Fred made a discovery in our yard yesterday morning. I went out with him and Gloria in the morning 'cause as we all know I have to beat Gloria to her poo, basically as it comes out her butt! Freddie did his business and then he caught a scent.
Then he started tracking.
Now usually it's where a squirrel has hid a peanut in our yard and he has to dig it up and eat it. yuk! We have to be very careful of this because of our granbaby Emma's severe peanut allergy. :(
Ahhh! But these weren't squirrel tracks!
Freddie tracked and tracked.
Then...........EUREKA!
It's pretty sad when even the bunnies aren't afraid of your hound dogs!! Apparently they had a hay day in our yard the night before.
"Come here Gloria!" "Look it's poo!"
"Eeewwww!" "That's disgusting Freddie!" "I'm not touching another critters poo!"
"Duh!" "You eat your own poo." I've seen ya do it!"
"At least I know where it comes from!"
Sadder than the bunnies not being afraid of my hounds is the fact that I actually took my Nikon camera that my wonderful husband had bought me for our Anniversary and took a picture of rabbit turd! Now that's sad! Also the fact that I think Freddie may have snorted a couple of those little pellets!
Good job we don't get Bunnies in our garden...! Btw... you are a Big Boy aren't you Fred?! ;-) Deccy x
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwe, don't feels bad...my mum takes weird fotos too.
ReplyDeleteI'm just gonna say da bunnies weren't really afraid. They just came and pooped when F & G was sleepin'. Otherwise, it could haves gone down differently. Dats my theory and I stick by it.
Puddles
ahhh sweet. nothing wrong with taking pics of poo, ive done that many times. and my last dog deefa use to enjoy a bit of his own poo when he was young too. xxx
ReplyDeleteHey, our brother tucker eats poo too and mom and dad have to stand guard...silly brother! Have a great weekend The emptynester spaniels
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love the pic of Freddie with his nose glued to the ground...best ears ever!!
ReplyDeleteBOL, the things our moms take pictures of!! I am not sure if I could have refrained from a nice smelly roll in that rabbit poo!!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
We love rabbit poo but we have to go and find it in the fields - those bunnies don't come in our garden...only once when a white rabbit from next door got in and he nearly ended up as somebody's dinner:-) Great photos! Love from Magic xx
ReplyDeleteGood job, Freddie! I'm glad Gloria didn't eat it. You don't know where that rabbit has been.
ReplyDeleteHaha. Storm would have eaten that rabbit poo and you would not need to ask her twice. :)
ReplyDeleteFreddie should try tracking. Looks like he is good at it.
I have been known to sample a little rabbit poo in my day! It drives my mom crazy.
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
Grrrrrreat trackin... Ahhhhhhh noting better than a nice Rabbit Turd Delight.. Snack. I'm just sayin. Droooooool ...
ReplyDeleteGloria: I eat my poo too!!! Mommy has to beat me to mine too! And when I got to doggy camp, I have to take special medicine to make sure I don't eat it there. Mommy says, it is something doggies doo, but it is something she just cant live with.
ReplyDeleteDoggy Kisses,
Tanner
Wouldn't that be crazy if you had to take Freddie to the vet because he had rabbit turds up his nose! (knock on wood).
ReplyDeleteOh, snacks for everyone. :) I don't understand the poo eating thing at ALL! I think we have finally got it nipped in the butt. BOL Amiee was our poop eater but she would only eat Tabby or Cleo's poop. Well since they have gone to the bridge her poop eating days have slowed way down. But she does like her own poop sometimes, totally gross. I have recently purchased some pills from Walmart that I give her and they seem to be working. The worst is when she burps and it smells like A$$. BOL Sniffs, The HoundDogs
ReplyDeleteI certainly would not want one of those up my nose....icky!
ReplyDeleteHaha,
ReplyDeleteThat's funny!! Is it yummy Freddie? I've never had rabbit poop!! Gloria you're such a food snob, food's food right?! Oh, apparently not, according to my Mum!! Doh!!
Have fun,
Your pal Snoopy :)
Well Freddie now you can watch out for those furry critters. Poopen in your yard, the nerve. Good trackin' buddy.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
What a find! Those teeny marbles are tasty
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
No no, not sad, reporting the incident, for your fellow doggie friends. Absolutely necessary. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Great tracking skills, Fred!!
ReplyDeleteWe have many deer that leave those little balls everywhere. Our mom tries to keep us busy chasing balls and each other when we are off leash. If we are left alone we seek and find all of that yummy deer poop and mom freaks big time. Maybe some of those little balls at our place came from rabbits too.
ReplyDeleteGood job Fred!
Nina, Myshka, Sasha, Betsy, Lucy, Phoebe and Lily
Art is in the eye of the beholder!
ReplyDeleteYours,
Hahahahaha! Good job tracking the rabbit poo Freddie.
ReplyDeleteewwwwwwwwwww!!!!! lol
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you those footprints are AWFULLY big for a rabbit! Are you sure that rabbit's name isn't "Big Foot?"
I like treats from the litter box - and my person took a picture of coyote poo the other day but I don't think she's going to let me post it on my blog.
ReplyDeleteMy guys can sniff out that rabbit poop from across the yard too. Funny, they look like the Zuke's treats that they love too.
ReplyDeleteNoice.
ReplyDeleteYour blog doesn't like us any more - still experiencing a horrible time trying to comment... :(

Hey there Basset Momma -- great pictures!!!! I had a friend who had doxies named Fred and Barney -- hahaha.
ReplyDeleteOh that's epic. He snorted them. Some dogs eat poo... Freddie has a different way of enjoying them, he snorts them.
ReplyDeleteHey BM, those rabbit turds should think they're really special because they had their picture taken by one pretty camera.
