Carrying on.......so I thought I'd take a glass of water back to bed with me and set it on the night table. Of course through all of this Gloria has followed me, because she panics if she looks up and can't see me. Fine. I get back into bed. Gloria can't make it back on the bed. She has her front paws up but she's needs a boost. It's so dark in our room so I decide to turn the light on beside the bed to help her. Aaaaand....yep....you guessed it.....I knocked the glass of water off the night table! Well, it shattered all over the floor, my husband just about had a heart attack (it was 4:00 a.m.) Gloria was traumatized and Freddie thought that must be the alarm to get up! So the hounds went out to pee, my husband went back to sleep and I cleaned up the mess and decided I may as well stay up now and have a tea.
So when did it turn lucky?
When I looked out the window and saw that we got SNOW!!
Once it got light outside, Fred, Gloria and I got to go out and play in it. Okay they played, I took pictures. So here's the latest pics.
Fred's proportions look all out of whack there. He looks all buff in the front with a scrawny butt!
Gloria's just praying that Fred doesn't run into her at full speed!
Gloria trying her best at greyhound mode.
Freddies dark side coming out. Gloria almost looks like she's panicking.
The flying nun.
And finally, you just can't have a snow day without eating some snow!
To think that this next picture was taken the day before, goes to show what a crazy winter it's been so far!
Ya, sorry about the butt thing, but (hee, hee) I just like the way all of their paws are off the ground in this shot!
Happy Weekend!
Oh lucky you!
ReplyDeleteDachshund Nola
Quite the morning you had!! But I LOVE that second picture of Gloria in action. What a great shot of her :)
ReplyDeleteI can recognize myself in your start of the day, feline version :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are both cute having fun in the snow.
You got some great pics in the snow - and your middle of the night story made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI am laughing my head off over these photos. You take the best Basset "action" shots. That fourth picture! The looks on Gloria and Fred's faces! Priceless! Glad the pups got some snow to play in. We got hit today too. I'd say about 8".
ReplyDeleteWe're jealous! We didn't get enough of the white stuff to really play in. Great photos and I love the butt shot! (And your early morning water escapade sounds like our house! ;-) )
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of the snow.... Sorry about your eventful morning leading to the discovery, however.
ReplyDeleteHave a great and fun day in the snow, pals.
pawhugs, Max
Gloria and Freddie remind me of the victim and predator scenario. Freddie looks so evil... like a t-rex sneering at it next meal.
ReplyDeleteNice snow pictures, BM.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee
Looks like the same crazy weather we are having in Illinois. Don't you just hate when you have a glass brake on you. It worries me to death the bassets will step on the slivers and get glass in their paws. I love all your pictures you must have a very snazzy camera. Sniffs, The HoundDogs
ReplyDeleteP.S..Thanks for the nice comments about Bella, we are just so happy with her. She comes out of her shell a little more each day.
How fun! Glad you guys got some snow!
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrrrr I can't believe that you two go out in that COLD STUFFS and PLAY!! Heck you don't even have Long WARM furs or even Coats on. BRRRRR
ReplyDeleteI love the last pic.. you are FLYING fur sure.
BOL! Not at the water glass. But at the pics. So funny. The one of Fred zooming in of Gloria and the look on her face. It's like when you see something coming and you can't do anything about it. Glad you got some snow.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
So happy in the snow
ReplyDeleteAwww! Sweet photos, sweet dogs! I love the 'flying nun'!
ReplyDeleteSo funny, they are the complete opposite of my tall, slender, long-legged, pointy noses!!
Woof! Woof! We got lots of SNOW too ... played all day long yesterday. ENJOY! Happy BLOG HOP Weekend. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteHee hee. No wonder she looks a bit spooked in that fourth shot - it's like something out of The Shining! They looked like that had lots of fun. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL I have one just like you "what your awake, right let's eat!" Your action photos are really nice!
ReplyDeleteYour "things that go bump in the night" story is very funny to those who have been through it. As always, I love the action shots of the dogs at play. (I must get a faster camera.) Ears like wings!
ReplyDeleteHi Everybuddy, mum says your night time activities sound very very familiar. We just love all your photos. The flying one at the end is extra grreat. We can't believe how much you weather can change from one day to the next. Its just amazing. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by our blog today. We're hoping for some snow tonight. We get lots up on Mt. Hood, but not much here in the valley. Dogs always seem to have so much fun in the snow. Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at the way your Friday the 13th started out. I have lots of mornings that start out that way, too early and with chaos! I hate when I have to get up to pee, because then I know that I'll have 2 boxers that will also have to do the same, and while they're out they might as well sniff around for 20 or 30 minutes! By the time I get them back in the house, I'm so wide awake that I can't get back to sleep! --- I loved Freddie's crazed look!
ReplyDeleteSnow! My Australian born dogs have never had a chance to play in this stuff. I think that Clover would be pretty enthused (it's just harder water, isn't it?).
ReplyDeleteI love the way your two play together, chasing each other, etc. Kelly gets so frisky in the snow, but we haven't had any hear in NY lately. Hope yours sticks around for a while!
ReplyDeleteYoy all got a lot more snow than us on Friday the 13th. We only saw a little dusting. But schools were still closed down. Gotta love TN!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou got some great pictures of Freddie & Gloria playing in the snow! You are right, it has been a crazy winter!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
It sure looks like you guys had a blast in the snow! Your morning sounds like ours...hope tomorrow is better. We love all the action shots and the flying ears, LOL.
ReplyDeleteDrools and licks,
Minnie and Mack
Nothin' wrong wif a cute butt shot. ;) We is still waitin' fur our furst big snow storm. :(
ReplyDeleteWoofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae and Max
I love the picture with the snow on the ears. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteLaughed and laughed (sorry!) about your night time trauma and I do understand the whole menopause thing :-( Brilliant snow pics - Fred & Gloria do know how to enjoy themselves :-) LOL - Magic's Mum
ReplyDeleteI love the expression on Fred's face in the picture third from the bottom. Still not much snow here.
ReplyDeleteWhen you left a comment on my blog and said you were up in the middle of the night, I did not realize there was a whole story. :)
Their expressions are proceless!
