I took Fred and Gloria out to throw the the ball around yesterday morning. Figured, what the heck the lawn is ruined now anyway. So much for the sod we laid last year. No snow, just mud. But you have to make the best of it and watching Freddie Spaghetti and Gloria have so much fun together is worth it!
Fred's been trying to get Gloria to play ball with him, but she just doesn't know what to do with it. Well, yesterday she started catching on. First Fred dropped the ball for her.
"Go on Gloria. Take it."
"Woo hoo! This is fun!"
"Go on Freddie. I dare ya to try and take it!" "I triple dog dare ya!!"
This of course left Freddie no choice.
And a chase ensued. They soon forgot all about the ball and just kept
Here's Fred in his Greyhound mode!
After playing the Basset Hound Ballet for awhile,
Freddie caught a scent of something in the air and once they both stopped they realized how tired they were.
My little plan worked again. Now they would go in and nap and I could get my pies baked!!
I am a little shocked that you were able to get your pies baked without the snoopervision of Freddie and Gloria!! Loved the pictures, I could totally see the grey hound sprint thing going on! BOL!!

Even without the snow, it still looks fun!
ReplyDeleteYou take the best "playing in the yard" pictures! This certainly brought a smile to my face, seeing these two cuties having fun. Freedom, Casper and Nikki admire Fred's gait...all four off the ground! We're supposed to get some snow Thursday and Friday. I think I've driven in snow once this year...crazy.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of F&G running and paying! Hope we get more snow too! What's winter without snow?? Hopefully soon!
ReplyDeleteOur yard looks like a herd of cattle stomped through it. There's very little grass, and a ton of mud. Those pictures brought back a lot of great memories for me... I used to love to watch my Nicky run around the yard, but he wasn't much of a ball chaser!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures made me smile. Such fun!
ReplyDeleteWow, Fred does look a greyhound in that picture! So good to see Gloria playing!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
Great games you two have even without the snow. Loved the 'flying ears' photo too :-)woofs and licks from Magic xx
ReplyDeleteMOM just loves the pics of them running. Glad Gloria is catching on with the ball. Playing ball with a friend is the best. I love it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
They look like they are having so much fun. Thanks for sharing the pics...I'm back at work and missing mid-day play time with my boys. These made me smile.
ReplyDeleteTerrific pictures! We love the action shots, mom says there's nothing quite like a tired hound!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, BM.
ReplyDeleteGloria's ballet picture looked like the model in Bow-Wow dog food.
And Freddie's greyhound move was awesome. That's why I love looking at dogs that have cute stubby feet. When they run, they look soooo cool.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee
I love the greyhound shot. Fred looks so deternined.
ReplyDeleteWow I didn't know Bassets could run so fast! There is nothing like a friend to play with. They look so sweet together.
ReplyDeleteAw so good to see them playing
ReplyDeleteDachshund Nola
Playtime in the back yard is the best. I run and run and run too. Mommy loves it so much when I come in tired. She says she gets lots of work done then too.
ReplyDeleteDoggy Kisses,
Tanner

ReplyDeleteLovies, Miss Mindy
I love those ears! This winter sure will be hard on the grass and plants if we don't get any snow; although I'm sure it will come and then we will be wishing it away!
