My favorite part of the day is having my morning coffee. There's nothing better than the smell of coffee brewing while I get the hounds their breakfast and morning treats, take them outside to do their business and then settle in with a nice hot cup of coffee. It's quiet and the day hasn't started to escalate yet. In the summer it's even better because you can take your coffee outside and enjoy the gardens and birds at the same time.
This is my morning coffee sanctuary.
Yes, that is Fred in the backgrounmd who has already found a piece of crud from the garden to chew on.
Here..... let me get closer.
nom, nom, nom......
Whatever, I'm in my peaceful place.
Above is my view from where I sit. I don't know what it is about the pink floozy but Freddie won't touch her. She still lays there guarding that darn antler while Fred eats garden crud! I'd take the antler, but if Freddie's that scared of her, I don't know what she'd do to me. I say just let sleeping floozies lay!
This is my little set up while I have my coffee. Laptop, phone, and my half crocheted dishcloth that I only started yesterday with encouragement from Dip-Dip and the Bridge. Check out her post today and see all the dishcloths/potholders that were crocheted by the Blogsville Ladies Crochet Society. I will be finishing mine today and I can't thank her enough for the tutorial on her blog. I don't have that one on one help since my Mom passed away. I would always just call her when I got stuck. This helped me so much!
Back to my morning coffee. Below of course is Good Gloria which by the way my husband has started calling her Eva LongGloria. (sigh)
That's her outdoor bed from when we first got her last year and it's still her favorite spot to lay when she's not in the lounge chair or loveseat with me.
And this is Fred after I put him back in the house so I could enjoy my morning coffee this morning!
I won't be out here too long this morning though as we are having another heat wave that started yesterday and it's already 22 C and I can feel the humidity starting to build once again. But hey, I'm not complaining. It's Friday and the start to our long weekend as Monday is Canada Day. So hubby has a three day weekend! Yay!
I know the U.S. holiday is July the 4th so you may like this recipe from Theresa's Mixed Nuts . They are Patriotic Pops! I am going to make red and white ones for our Canada Day barbecue.
You have a beautiful yard and place to enjoy your morning coffee. I agree, best part of the day!

I think I would be afraid of Pink Floozie too.
ReplyDeleteWOW.. we have a fountain almost EXACTLY like yours... WE drink from it... butt mom doesn't like fur us to do that. Don't know why though.

ReplyDeleteI have always loved your yard...it's so beautiful and relaxing! I can't wait to see how your dishcloth comes out. I'll have to try that version too! It sounds easy to follow :) I'm not looking forward to the heat today...but don't want to complain too much because I hate the cold! lol
ReplyDeleteYour coffee sanctuary is divine! And the basset accessories are the perfect finishing touch. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Guys,
ReplyDeleteThat sure is one cozy looking sanctuary!! :) My Mum is a bit obsessed about her morning coffee - it's the first thing she gets in the morning - then she heads to the computer - we don't usually go outside to her sanctuary until later after my run as she says it's a little cool - we don't get humidity here unlike you…..
Come to think of it, I'm hoping her coffee has started working now and we'll be heading off for our run - Woohoo!!
Have a fun weekend guys (Freddie, I'd be super impressed if you brave up to that Pink Floozy buddy!!) :)
Your pal Snoopy :)
You have the backyard of my dreams!!!
ReplyDeleteNothing beats a peaceful cup of coffee. I can almost smell it now. Mmmm.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely garden!
ReplyDeleteI love that early morning time as well. I get up extra early to be sure I get that first cup of coffee all by myself!
Happy Canada Day! I'll be up in your neck of the woods for 4th of July. We are going to watch the fireworks from the Canadian side of Niagara Falls! If you hear of a couple of dogs going over the falls in a barrel, you'll know who it was ;-)
A beautiful way to start the day in such a lovely surrounding! Mom made me say that.
ReplyDeleteYour friends,

ReplyDeleteOooh! Your dishcloth is looking wonderful. I would be happy to add it to this post or show it off in July's reveal, whatever you would like best.

Oh my, thanks for the plug! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your little gazebo area (that is what it's called, a gazebo?) What a great view to wake up! I think I've told you before that I just adore the plants and flowers in your backyard, but I'll say it again. They are gorgeous!
It sure looks like a lovely place for coffee in the mornings. And crud for Fred hehehe. I will take your 22 C over our 37 C any day of the week ;)
ReplyDeleteYour yard is pretty amazing! You're lucky to have such lovely space to chill out and have your coffee in.
ReplyDeleteAlso, crocheted dish cloths rock!
Hey Fred, Hey Eva LongGloria! Jet here. Hi Miss Janet.
ReplyDeleteOh we like that nickname, we're still giggling.
What a beautiful area to experience the start of each day. Thanks for sharing. No wonder you are such a special blogpal. :)

You have a beautiful backyard and I am jealous of your sanctuary area!
ReplyDeleteNice yard. Mine is all dug up with big holes from the dogs.

ReplyDeleteYay for the dishcloth.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder some people just love taking a sip of their coffee outside. You have the prettiest pavilion ever! Ahhh, the comfort.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee
What a wonderful morning set up! I love your coffee sanctuary!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to have your morning coffee! I love making dishcloths too! I have since decided, I enjoy using size 3 crochet cotton better then cotton yarn though! Easier to use for my hands.
ReplyDeleteMy mom was drooling over your morning coffee sanctuary...BOL!! Yay, you finished your dishcloth, now there is more time to spend with Freddie and Eva LongGloria!! BOL!!!!!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
What a wonderful garden retreat you have, sheltered from rain and too much sun. (When I see upholstered outdoor furniture, I always have to think about rain even in the middle of summer.) Don't you love it when everything is green and full and blooming?
ReplyDeletewith that lovely outdoor area me thinks me would be sipping my morning coffee all day. I guess if Freddie has an Eva LongGloria he doesn't need a floozie!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend.
Sweet William The Scott
Psss We will get around to passing on the lovely award you gave us.
I sooo enjoyed this post! Your outdoor sanctuary looks delightful, am I right that it looks like you are covered if it rains? I just love sitting on patios in the rain.
ReplyDeleteMy morning coffee goes into the entire day...lol.....
Don't blame Fred for not liking that "floozy" that's pretty scary looking!
And...."Eva LongGloria" OMG I love it!!
Your dishcloth came out beautiful as well!!!
I want to come over and have coffee in your sanctuary!!
What a great way to 'ease' into the day.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
What an absolutely gorgeous sanctuary - wow!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!

Morning coffee is my favorite part of the day too... but I've decided that it has to happen at least an hour earlier now. It's too hot! I have the same problem as you... except that part of my problem is that K doesn't tolerate the heat during our morning hikes. I've vowed that our hikes will be commencing at 6AM from now on! (wish me luck...).
ReplyDeleteOh your patio looks so comfy..I so envy you!..morning coffee will definitely be lovely in there..
ReplyDeleteI'll be right over!!!! You lucky duck you:)))
ReplyDeleteYour dish cloth turned out great!
♥hugs♥
Bev
Hi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteI came by to wish you Happy Canada Day!
I love your secluded and beautiful garden room.
It's hot here in the mountains too. Though it gets into the low 60's (16+C) at night, days are soaring into the mid to upper 80's (30+C). Course this is great 'cause the low country is suffering in triple digit temps.
Y'all stay cool now!
Hawk aka BrownDog
What a BEAUTIFUL place to work! My backyard is totally boring next to yours! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful Monday!
Woofs & huggies! <3
~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl!)
Poor Fred, forced to eat the garden cruds cause a pink floozy is holding his antler hostage!
ReplyDeleteYou gotta watch out for those pink floozies....we had one once upon a time and my brother Butter the Bean had to murders her before she could steal our stuffies and hold them hostages with her floozinesses!
Sugar the Who
Nice work on the crocheting!
ReplyDeleteAnd belated Happy Canada Day!
Eva LongGlorai....we love it!!!! We also love your coffee nook! Oh, and Meowm loves it too!
ReplyDeleteI love your morning coffee spot. What a great way to start your day.
ReplyDeleteHi! I think I have to take photo from my morning coffee because it looks almost the same like yours! Also my best time of the day if I don't have to go anyway and I can start my day slowly. I take our smaller laptop outside but inside we have the same like yours (only in grey colour). And Nero has the same yellow-orange towel! Enjoy your lovely mornigs and give lots of hugs to Gloria and Freddie! x Teje
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful oasis! I, too, like to sit out on my patio with morning coffee and my laptop. Lately, it's the only time of day I can enjoy outside. Been brutally hot here (Eastern PA), and we get sun all afternoon on the patio. If my husband would get around to hanging bamboo shades, then maybe I could enjoy the evenings there. Some day....
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, your coffee nook is beautiful! I would never want to leave. It really is a little oasis, isn't it? Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on finishing your dish cloth! Nice job. :)
wow....i wish i have backyard like yours
