I'm not going to mention any names, but somebody seems to have this thing for paper plates lately. Particularly the leftover Super Bowl plates from last year.
He doesn't do anything with them. He just nonchalantly goes downstairs, goes in behind the bar, takes them off the shelf, brings them upstairs and then just lays there with them.
He doesn't chew them. Just lays beside them. I'm thinking maybe he's just tired of having his snacks off the floor and is taking a stand!
On another note, has anyone else's dog been acting antsy lately? Fred seems to be pacing back and forth, whining, wanting out every five minutes just to come back in and look out the window and want back out again. He also seems to be jumping on Gloria and wanting to play rough a lot more. Is this just because spring is in the air and he's getting anxious? I'm puzzled because he's neutered. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. :)
Probably squirrels....BOL!
ReplyDeleteHow funny is the paper plate thing. Maybe he does want his treats served up to him on a plate.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Maybe he wants to have another party. You know he a party animal.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty funny about the plates. I suspect he's needing some chips and dip!
ReplyDeleteI guess a paper plate will have to do, since he can't find a silver plater! BOL!
ReplyDeleteLovies, MIss Mindy
Spring fever, I bet! I think he is waiting for someone to put something on there....I know I would be....
ReplyDeleteCould be a change in da berrymetric pressure...or climate change...bwhahahaha!
ReplyDeleteNows, you must suck up into his every whim and puts some treats on dat plate pronto.
Puddles
yep!thats doggielove!
ReplyDeletesam and buddy act exactly the same way,and they have sooo much nosework to do at this time of the year.
fred will be fine in a few days and meanwhile you and gloria must close your ears and think of male teenagers.
dont worry , i think its normal.
yours anni,the foxbrothermomma
Dear Fred, plates are no good unless they are filled with treats!
ReplyDeleteNo clue on the other except maybe a change in weather?
That is too funny about the paper plates!
ReplyDeleteLeroy gets in antsy moods every so often where he can't sit still and annoys all of us including Sherman, I can't quite pinpoint what it is, but it lasts a few days and then he is back to normal.
My doggies want to do the in and out way to much lately, I think its to chase the birds from the feeders!
ReplyDeleteHee hee. I'm guessing he's just hungry.
ReplyDeleteYeah, spring is in the air!!!
ReplyDeleteFred said,'Mom, you either feed me more or take me out for some walkies.'
Fred my friend I have always maintained that everything tastes better on a paper plate.
ReplyDeleteMOM says I do that whining in out thing when I don't feel good. I say I am just keeping her on her toes and I must always keep training her.
Blessings,
Goose
Teehee! It's a wonder why Fred doesn't put some goodies on his plate before he lays down next to it. *hint*
ReplyDeleteWoofs & huggies, <3
~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl!)
I've never heard of a dog carrying a plate around and lying by it but my sister Bella likes to get one of Mom's shoes out of the closet and lay by it when Mom's not home. She doesn't chew it either. Just keeps it close.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Fred is enjoying the nice weather and longer days! He thinks he should go outside because it's too nice to be in the house. But then he get's tired from playing outside so wants back into the house. Then he's feeling guilty for being inside when it's SO nice outside....and on and on and on....
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! I love meeting new friends through the blog hop!
Your New Pal,
HERO
Looks so cute with his paper plate!
ReplyDeleteHave you looked what he's doing when he's outside? Sniffing around and enjoying it? Or is he trying to "go" and maybe he can't "go"? I don't know, just a thought.
My Freddie use to love to steal things, he nevp he just liked to carry them out the doggies door - cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he wants to play and he thinks the paper plates are upside-down frisbees??
ReplyDeleteI think he's just ready for some football! I don't know what the deal is with ansty dogs either. Both my boxers are neutered and they have had the same routine ever since we got them last July. This past week we are having a heck of a time getting them to their sleeping room and they have been whining very early to get out. The need to get their act together real quick cause they are driving me bonkers!
ReplyDeleteI think that Freddie is picking up those plates and is bringing them upstairs because there is a special surprise coming for him in the mail hehehe....and...that is why he is antsy too because he is telling Gloria that SHE has one coming too! :)
ReplyDeleteI think Freddie is just trying to tell you, in a very nice way, that he wants his treats on a plate from now on!!! BOL!!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
That is pretty darn cute. Mebbe he wants you to fill up those plates with Super Bowl snacks.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the paper plate is Fred's idea of art. We dogs think differently from our people. We appreciate more things.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the doggie version of a little girl's tea party with dolls. The antsy-ness could be spring fever or interesting smells in the yard, but I'd also check to make sure all peeing and pooping is happening as usual.
ReplyDeleteThe paper plates thing is way too cute. Kelsey has been a little nuts lately too...mostly wanting to get up several times a night for no good reason that I can figure out.
ReplyDeleteBOL oh Freddie! We've been antsy too, happens every time the weather changes
ReplyDeleteDachshund Nola
Oh that looks like an interesting new toy, way to be creative.
ReplyDeleteurban hounds
It'll be Sqibbles... I'll put my gravy bones on it. In contrast, I got on my sofa today at 7.00am and didn't move a muscle until Mum dragged my outside for a pee at 3.00pm! Deccy x
ReplyDeleteMaybe he wants to be taken to the superbowl ;)
ReplyDeleteI think Fred misses the excitement and camaraderie of football season and wants it back.
ReplyDeleteWell...if I may weigh in...I'm a spayed girl and I've been "playing rough" with my fur-brother Truffle, so I guess it might be that spring is in the air.
ReplyDeleteHey Fred!
ReplyDeleteWow, I think your hint about getting some yummy snacks served on a plate is missing the mark! BOL Maybe try taking the plate over to the refrigerator and stare at it.
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, COP
Hi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteI prefer to steal something that has some yummy flavors and chew on it or at least lick it!
I'm gettin' fitter and fitter and wantin' to go hiking more and more!
Snowin' and blowin' here so I thought I'd just hop by to say "hi" and see how y'all are doing.
Hope y'all had a great weekend and have a fantastic week!
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Elka has been kind of antsy and futzy lately. I think the change in the weather affects them, speutered or not.
ReplyDeleteMy Teddy has been chasing after Ash and he is also neutered. In fact, he is kind of mean...biting her and jumping on her. I think it's the change in the weather too or maybe it's just cause they are boy doggies!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Spring always makes me antsy.
ReplyDeleteSave those paper plates for the next party!
Yours,
I like paper plates, too ...but I like to chew them up and spit out all the little pieces. It's lots of fun. You should try it.
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
It's the crazy weather I'm sure!! And his sniffer is probably picking up some scents with all the new life that's popping up and then this wild wind that's blowing everything around. Have fun with that hehe :) You really should put some food on those plates for him though ;) Help a hound out ya know? lol
ReplyDeleteMaybe Fred is asking for a snack put on his plate! Sounds like he has a case of spring fever or maybe he didn't get the memo that he was neutered?
ReplyDeleteWhat cute photos with the paper plates! Maybe Fred is antsy for football season to start again!
ReplyDeleteSo cute and resourceful to play with plates from last yer!
ReplyDeleteBella and DiDi
I think he's hungry. I know I am.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, I don't know. But something's bugging him so keep an eye on him and he'll let ya know.
Hey Fred, Hey Gloria, Jet here.
ReplyDeleteI think the issue is quite simple really. Fred misses FOOTBALL SEASON like most of us guys... Another mystery solved by Scooby Doo Academy trained Jetty boy!
His parts still work even if he's neuter. Maybe he's looking for a little sugar!! BOL! The plate thing is too cute. Maybe Fred thinks it's time for a party, SuperBowl Style!! :)
ReplyDeletethose sure look like fun plates to play with
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Hey Freddie,
ReplyDeleteHow come your Mum said she wasn't gonna mention any names and then referred to the culprit as 'he' and showed your pictures with the plates? I'm thinking you're busted buddy!! :)
Have fun,
Your pal Snoopy :)
Nice plate you've got there!
ReplyDeleteMy mom person says I tend to get more antsy when there are weird weather patterns outside. I think the early spring & odd storms are having alot of us dogs antsy.
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Yes, our dogs have been extremely antsy. My weimaraner will not sit still for more than ten minutes at a time. He paces the house and goes in and out. He will finally calm down after lunch and take a nap. Not sure what's up with the behaviour.
ReplyDeleteSteph
He's so cute and so silly. Bella steals stuff too but doesn't damage anything any more - just steals it. I think it's an attention-seeking behavior.
ReplyDeleteAs for why Freddie's antsy - every so many weeks when we go in to our reactive agility class, our trainer comments on why we should expect the dogs to be acting a little "crazy" this week. Anything from a full moon to a shift in weather patterns will trigger a comment from her. She's not even making a joke, she's trying to teach us about what types of environmental factors we need to be aware of in anticipation of our (crazy) dogs' behavior. Maybe Freddie feels it too? Just a thought...
hi,
ReplyDeleteI like this blog how funny!!! it seems the dog is waiting for something to serve in the plate.
