This is the only Christmas ornament I have left that was my Grandmother's. The rest have all gotten broken over the years. I used to love seeing her tree when I was little as it was one of those fake silver ones and I just thought it was so beautiful! Like fancy smancy beautiful!
It is so beautiful. MOM told me her Geannymom had one of those fake silver trees too. Very special memories. Makes Christmas even more special.

OH MY..... you certainly have CARED fur this GORGEOUS Ornie. It is wonderful that it has survived so many years of LOVE and MEMORIES. FABULOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteWe had an aluminum tree when I was growing up and I thought we were quite the family for having it. We even had one of the color changing electric wheel lights (I'm sure there's a better term for it than that) that made it look like it changed colors. I have truly enjoyed this ornament series. Thank you for sharing your special memories.
ReplyDeleteI love that all your ornaments have such wonderful meanings,
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I understand all too well about broken ornaments over the years. *sigh* My husband claims to have no idea! :P

I would love to get one of those old silver trees and put antique glass ornaments on it. Those old ornaments are so pretty, but so fragile! Your Grandmother's ornament is beautiful.
