This ornament is probably around 36 years old. Yes, I had a kitty and his name was Sylvester because he reminded me so much of the one in the cartoons with Tweety Bird. If ever there was a heart cat he was it. He was actually more like a dog when I think about it. I had him before I met my husband and Sylvester was so jealous of my hubby that he would always want to lay between us on the bed. When my husband would first get into bed, Sylvester would walk up and bite him on the nose as if telling him "Back off buddy, she's mine!" Sadly Sylvester was hit by a car when he was 10 years old but his ornament is always the first one I put on our tree.
Now on to the Christmas cards!
Freddie and Gloria were pretty excited to see the mail yesterday.
They got four more cards!
Fred and Gloria ............fifteen........
Stevie and I............................one!
"Hehehehehe!!"
P.S. - Yes, that was Freddie's real tongue yesterday. Even we didn't know it was that long! LOL!
MOM LOVES that ornament . She really likes Sylvester too. Sounds like Fed and Gloria are cleaning up with the cards. I hope to send mine out this weekend. And that photo of Fred has to be one of my very favorites. hehhehe Love it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Sylvester is sooooo cool! What a neat name for a kitty, I love those old cartoons! :-D Hehehe, son't feel too bad, you guys are one ahead of Domeek, she's got none so far! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love ornaments that lead back to special memories. I'm going to enjoy hearing all about yours. I don't think you humans have a chance in the Christmas card race.
ReplyDeleteGreat ornament! We're way ahead in the Christmas card race, too. We can see our card there.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Laughed about your cat and husband. Years ago my dog Benji used to chew the thumb of the right hand glove of any boyfriend silly enough to leave a glove within doggie reach. And, yes, he did the same thing with Gary. Only the thumb (and just enough to ruin the glove, but you couldn't tell until you put the glove on) and only the right hand glove. Pets keep life so interesting ;-)
ReplyDeleteI think decorating the tree and having the ornaments with the memories is the best part!
ReplyDeleteI love that last picture of Freddie!! I can't believe how many cards you've gotten--We've only gotten two, and I've not sent a single one, so you all are way, way ahead of us!! :-)
I hope you're doing well, and I hope you enjoy your weekend too!!
Now I've got , 'I thought I thought a pussy cat' in my head. These card counts are cracking us up. My peeps has a big fat ZERO! BOL. Have a super Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I love the Christmas ornament thing you're doing, great idea. As for Fred's tongue... I just went back and had a look. WOW! I missed that yesterday. Impressive! One of Elsie's nicknames is 'The Tongue', but she doesn't get called that very often because there are others that are more fitting for the stage she's at in life! :)
ReplyDeleteNot long to go now guy'z, then wez get Turkey :) We got card'z Humom hasn't BOL xx00xx
ReplyDeleteMollie and Alfie
