Yesterday was a cool and rainy day. I'm not complaining 'cause Lord knows we need the rain. It was a good day for cooking comfort food and getting some laundry done. I made vegetable beef barley soup, gruyere and bacon scones and banana muffins with streusel topping. Yummy!
When Fred and Gloria weren't waiting by my feet for a taste of things to come out of the oven....
......they were sleeping. We did however, get a chance for a short romp outside when the rain stopped for a bit.
I love the way this shot came out because it looks like Gloria is trying to touch Fred's tail.
Gloria looks like she has a saggy butt under her chin in this one!
"Whew! Gloria! Did you have to let one rip when I'm right behind you?"
And finally, go attack the camera lady!
Sometimes rainy days can be the best. The only downfall to yesterday, I think I put on ten pounds because all I did was eat! It's supposed to rain all week so I'd better curb my appetite now!
wow all that food you made sounds deeeelish!!! i wish i lived nearby so i could of come round to try a bit of everything :)
ReplyDeletei love the last pic best, especially as its at an angle makes it look more dramatic xxx
I love a good rainy day here and there! Look at them romp around outside! Looks like a great day!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures. Love those break-in-the-weather romps!
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Hope Fred and Gloria got some of the baking after their diligent snoopervision.
I love all the pictures, buy my favorite is the 4th one. It looks like you're doing a synchronized swimming routine (only without the water).
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
pawhugs, Max
I love the 4th pic too! It is beautiful! You both ROCK! It must be so much fun at your house....
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are gorgeous! I love the 4th picture too. Both of them look so regal and proud!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics! Glad you got outside too!
ReplyDeleteLovies, Miss Mindy
Oh my goodness, the soup, scones and muffins sound so good! I took the day off yesterday to recover from "vacation." It was rainy here too. We also wait for a break before going out. We try to avoid "wet hound" if possible.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of "ripping"...dearest Sophie let's them rip from both ends especially this passed w/e...thanks sweetie...next time you gets totally scalped.!
ReplyDeleteNext rainy day we're all coming to your house!
ReplyDeleteI'll do the cooking! :)
Deletewas raining here too! Mom loved it but YES it does make you want to eat!! Love the photos!
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome pictures Mom!! I love the "saggy butt under Gloria's chin" pictures...they both look so cute in it :) And where the heck is my banana muffins??? You bring soup and scones, but no muffins? What up with that? ;) hehe...jk...sort of!! :P
ReplyDeleteI love ALL the pictures... from the Flour Heads to the Very last one. Some of the BEST pics of you two ever!! Your house must have smelled terrific.
ReplyDeleteLove the flour on Fred's head! lol!
ReplyDeleteYes, that rain yesterday did not make for fun outdoor play here! And like your area, it's going to rain all week here too :( We all feel so lazy on weeks like this.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Gloria looks so funny with her saggy butt chin!
I have to agree with Mayor Frankie, these are some of the best pics. Rainy days can be good. I don't like to go out in the rain. If I have to go out but won't MOM holds an umbrella over me so I can pee. hehhehhe
ReplyDeleteFor some reason MOM wants to make soup now, maybe because it is suppose to rain today.
Blessings,
Goose
What a great series of photos!! I love the one of Gloria standing in the kitchen looking up at you. :) Today we're getting the rain, so that means Daisy will be napping most of the time. It's funny how weather can affect pups so strongly!
ReplyDeleteThat soup and those scones sound so good - my breakfast bowl of oat rings isn't looking too good anymore.... ;)
We had a rainy day here too - fairly rare event. I baked Rubies Birthday Cake and did some prep for the peeps dinner at Grandpaws tomorrow! We will also celebrate someone's Birthday while we are there. Rubie tells me she has nominated her Grandpaw to be in charge of the "present draws " so that will be fun too!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it wasn't 10 pounds!?!
Rubies mum xxx
Can't wait for the party! :-)
DeleteThese photos are great...my favorite is Gloria waiting in front of the stove!! What a couple of goof balls you have.
ReplyDeleteOMG.. the saggy butt under her chin pic is THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! I can't stop LOL!

We like rainy days too! Our peeps . . . not so much. Looks like you had fun!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the 4th pic! SO CUTE!
ReplyDeleteWe'll be getting some much needed rain here soon as well. Fred, and Gloria are just full of personality and it shows in your photos.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is: Tails up for a great day of play and yummy food!!

ReplyDeleteWe'll try and send a little rain to Texas for you Kari! :)
DeleteI love that last pic, what a happy face!
ReplyDeleteurban hounds
Aww, Fred and Gloria are just so cute! We get a lot of rain here, especially this time of year, and I try not to let it stop us from getting outside and having fun. Although, I'd give up anything for a gruyere and bacon scone right now. That would be worth any weight gain!
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteWanted to come by and say Happy May Day! How are y'all doin'?
Hope y'all had a great weekend! Have a wonderful week!
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
You two looked like you were having so much fun.....we will be right over to share some of those scones....they sound so yummy. By the way - Mom is posting your zentangles off to you tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait! :)

ReplyDeleteI love seeing pics of Fred and Gloria running -- love those floppy ears and adorable faces! :)
ReplyDeleteWoofs & hugs, <3
~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl!)
Sounds like a good rainy day to me, even if the dogs only got a short romp. Rainy days are great when you need to get stuff done around the house, sounds like you did!
ReplyDeleteI love that last picture of Fred. We had a rainy day yesterday too. But we needed some rain. Rainy days make me want to nap like Fred and Gloria...and I like to watch bad movies. Not sure I have your ambition to cook and bake. :)
ReplyDeleteRainy days are good for getting things done. Looks like you got to have a little bit of fun!
