....and left this bad boy in the park.
Then yesterday morning after his morning pee, Fred came threw himself against the back door screaming and said,
"Momma! There's something going down in the hood!"
We all went to the front door to see what they were doing. What was all that steam?
Fred and Gloria were mesmerized by this big machine. Okay, I was a little too!
They're repaving our crescent! That machine heats up the old asphalt and grinds it up. Oh it was noisy, I tried shutting the front door to drown out some of the noise but,
Fred would have no part of it. He needed all of his viewing options left open.
The whole process took most of the day. I don't know if your dog has ever done this, but when Fred sees something out the front he'll run to the back door and want outside. Once he's out there he realizes that he can't see what he was looking at anymore and scratches to get back in. Once in, the process starts all over again.
Fred watched the grader go by for the last time......
....and then he crashed.
Rest up Freddie 'cause that was just day one!!
HAHA It sure is fun watching what is going on outside!
ReplyDeleteLovies, Miss Mindy
Yea....I like to watch stuffs like that too - the council are always doin things across the road in my ravine and on my hill - always without my permission first..... So I have to do a lot of barking!!
ReplyDeleteTail Wuggles, Rubie
We were scared at first. We thought that monster machine was going to eat up your park! We barked at the truck when it did that to your street. Except for Roxy, she runs away.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Well it's enough to wear a Basset out! Mum thinks that John Deere might be quite good next time it snows. Hehe! Deccy x
ReplyDeleteThat's a clever machine. It looks like an exhausting morning of being vigilant.
ReplyDeleteI bet that was quite the sight to behold for Fred & Gloria! And to think that was just the first day hehehe.
ReplyDeleteWell it sounds like a fun day. I can just picture it...in, out, in, out, in...lol. I suppose now you can look forward to the day they lay the new asphalt. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteStoppin' to say "hello" and see how y'all are doing. I'm BOL! Although I must confess, Freddie, I've never seen anything like that!
Hope you continue having a fantastic week!
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Oh, so funny Freddie. We have a doggie door so ours run out the doggie door back in the doggie door, to the back of the couch to look out the window. Then we do it all over again. We are glad that you stayed indoors to watch because that big ol machines looks a little scary. Sniffs, The HoundDogs
ReplyDeleteThat looks tiring making sure all is well in the hood. I think you should request a doggie door. I have been asking MOM for years for one. But she says she does not want the other critters to come in.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Sounds like a very tiring day. Glad there was someone there to supervise those workers.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of snoopervising going on there Freddie!! You better rest up and prepare for day two!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
It's a big job snoopervising the repaving of a road! Get your beauty sleep Fred, you have lots of work ahead of you!
ReplyDeleteFred, you look like you got really tired watching the machine and workers - BOL!
ReplyDeleteI so needed this series of shots today. Freddie, you are one funny basset. Get some rest, there's more work to be done!
ReplyDeleteThat's exciting business!!
ReplyDeleteFred sure is a curious little fellow, isn't he? That's a serious piece of machinery there.
ReplyDeleteWe had some work done on street a couple of years ago and I have to admit, Bella got over her fear of big machinery as a result of it. (They were there for weeks though so it was deal or die in her case. :)
What a day! Have a good rest.
ReplyDeleteThey did that in front of our office. We were all watching.
When it rains, my cats go and check at all doors...
WOWZERS! You really have to keep an eye on things, don't you?
ReplyDeleteThose things can be SO noisy!
ReplyDeleteSnoopervision is very tiring... You're doing a great job, Fred. Keep it up.
ReplyDeletepawhugs, Max
Looks like Fred had a hard day at work keeping track of all the work!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if he's thinking about christening those big tires? :-)))!!
ReplyDeleteDon't work too hard Fred!!!
Seems you had quite a busy day there Fred. All that action going on outside would tire me out as well.
ReplyDeleteThose machines are so noisy! No wonder Fred was pooped!
ReplyDeleteAnd YAY! for new a new repaved road! We had ours done 2 years ago and it is so much better to drive on!
LOL, oh Fred! What a busy day you had!
ReplyDeleteIt's a tough job being the guardian of the neighborhood - but it looks like you two have it all figured out
ReplyDeleteMy Fred use to love to sit and watch what was going on outside as well, its a tough job but someone has to do it :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a hrad job to keep an eye on the 'hood! We don't blame you for crashing Fred!
ReplyDeleteBOL nO wonder He's tired after all that!
ReplyDeleteDachshund Nola
You got to keep your eyes on the hood. Supervision is an important job. Well they might have taken your street away if you were not on the job.
ReplyDeleteSweet William The Scot
Freddie, you should have gone out and asked for your white hard hat that the foreman's always wear!
ReplyDeleteGood work with your neighborhood watch
ReplyDeleteurban hounds

ReplyDeleteSnoopervising monsters is so exhausting. Especially if there is screaming involved
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Great story! I especially like the picture of the two of 'em coming to "tell you" what's up! I've never seen a machine like that either, I don't think. I was concerned for your park, at first!
ReplyDeleteCrikey..that's some big machine Fred!
ReplyDeleteYou had to keep watch to make sure it didn't get too close.
Big Nose Pokes
The Thugletsx
We have a lot of big farm machines going down our back lane and I like to watch them but my sister would really bark if they came in our street and started steaming and banging and stuff! Woofs and licks from Magic xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a tiring day for you, Fred! I hope you had a good rest after your hard work! That big monster is so scary!
ReplyDeleteWowserz!! That machine sure does sound ominous! I would be watching it all day too!
ReplyDeleteWoofs & huggies, <3
