Somethings Going On In The Hood

The other day the city came and pulled up alongside our little park in front of our crescent....

....and left this bad boy in the park.

Then yesterday morning after his morning pee, Fred came threw himself against the back door screaming  and said,

"Momma! There's something going down in the hood!"

We all went to the front door to see what they were doing. What was all that steam?

Fred and Gloria were mesmerized by this big machine.  Okay, I was a little too!

They're repaving our crescent!  That machine heats up the old asphalt and grinds it up. Oh it was noisy,  I tried shutting the front door to drown out some of the noise but,

Fred would have no part of it.  He needed all of his viewing options left open.

The whole process took most of the day.  I don't know if your dog has ever done this, but when Fred sees something out the front he'll run to the back door and want outside.  Once he's out there he realizes that he can't see what he was looking at anymore and scratches to get back in.  Once in, the process starts all over again.

Fred watched the grader go by for the last time......

....and then he crashed.

Rest up Freddie 'cause that was just day one!!

  3. We were scared at first. We thought that monster machine was going to eat up your park! We barked at the truck when it did that to your street. Except for Roxy, she runs away.

  9. Oh, so funny Freddie. We have a doggie door so ours run out the doggie door back in the doggie door, to the back of the couch to look out the window. Then we do it all over again. We are glad that you stayed indoors to watch because that big ol machines looks a little scary. Sniffs, The HoundDogs

  10. That looks tiring making sure all is well in the hood. I think you should request a doggie door. I have been asking MOM for years for one. But she says she does not want the other critters to come in.

  16. Fred sure is a curious little fellow, isn't he? That's a serious piece of machinery there.

We had some work done on street a couple of years ago and I have to admit, Bella got over her fear of big machinery as a result of it. (They were there for weeks though so it was deal or die in her case. :)
