What a terrific day yesterday was! Lots of sunshine and 21C (70F). The day started out with the hounds in kind of a drab lazy mood. Yes even Fred!
"What? What's the big deal?" "So it's sunny out." "Whoopee ding dong day!" "Can ya eat it? No." "Can ya catch it on your tongue? No."
Fred has such a negative attitude! He must get that from his father. hee!hee! So I tried to get him and Gloria motivated and took them on our short walk. This normally takes 20 minutes. Yesterday it took 45 minutes! Ugh! When we got home though Gloria was all giddy and ready to play.
Fred wasn't. Then when Fred finally was.
Gloria wasn't.
Then they both just wanted to lay in the sun. (I can't really blame them.)
I took there outdoor beds to the driveway where it felt even warmer. Gloria loved this...Fred just wanted to eat crud.
Then I dusted off the old Weber to barbecue burgers.
"Hello baby, it's been a long weird winter!"
Freddie waited patiently for burgers.
"Come on woman!" "Where's those burgers?" "How long does it take?"
(I know, I know. I've just learned to live with his crap.)
Ahhh! "See Fred you can catch the sun on your tongue!"
Those burgers look super tasty and it sounds like you had a good day. I always thought the lazy based thing was a myth, is it?
ReplyDeleteUrban Hounds
Yeah! It was nice in our corner of the world yesterday too! Don't think we would have been cooking burgers outside, but nice! Deccy x
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteHope you got to eat all those burgers! YUM!
ReplyDeleteLovies, Miss Mindy
That sounds like the perfect day....walks, playtime, grilling....doesn't get any better than that....
ReplyDeletewow them burgers look very nice. not quite bbq time here tho, the fog is so thick here today and its proper chilly xxx
ReplyDeleteHmmm, Freddie, I figured that the grilling of the burgers would have perked you right up!! I guess it was not that exciting unless one of them fell off the grill, right?!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
I love the BBQ the most! Did you get to have all of them?
ReplyDeleteDrooling all over,
Eva
Wow, your day seemed to last forever. It's funny how Freddie sounded a little down for the entire day... well, except for the intent stare on the patty preparation.
ReplyDeleteHuggies and Cheese,
Haopee
Where the heck was my burger???! Ok, ok...I should fend for my own family once in a while ;) I'm in love with that first picture of Freddie...love his hush puppy eyes. Those hounds have it made at your house, that's for sure LOL!
ReplyDeleteHey Fred I love that first photo. It's like your sayin' "How you doin'?" hehehe I noticed there were 3 burgers so I must ask, is that third one for ..... me? Enjoy your sunshine Gloria and Fred.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Gloria looks like she is just having a ball rolling around in the sun. I swear, you had the exact same day we did, except we grilled steak. Wasn't it such a beautiful day yesterday? Every day should be like that!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that always the way with men and women? When one wants to do something, the other doesn't. ::sigh:: Lying in the sun sounds like a good all-around compromise. :) We had a sunny 72 degree day yesterday too with a gentle cool breeze - no coats, yay! Mmmmm I can just taste those burgers!
ReplyDeleteTiming.. play is all about timing. Darn I wish I could have had one of those burgers. THREE?? One fur Fred One fur Gloria and .....
ReplyDeleteYuuuum. That sounds nice! Working on tans and eating burgers. More nice weather please! (Fred can learn to deal with it.)
ReplyDeleteLOLOL We love the expressions on Fred. What a nice day!! Wish we could say the same here. It will not make up its mind.
ReplyDeleteDid everyone enjoy their burgers? They looked nummers.
Cannot wait to BBQ, we love grilled veggies. :)
Man we would LOVE mom to bring out beds out for a sun bath. As for burgers not a chance we are getting one.
ReplyDeleteLOL those burgers look tasty! That perked him up
ReplyDeleteDachshund Nola
Fred's not lazy; he's just really into conservation of energy. All that lying in the sun? They're both planning solar energy devices.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a beautiful day! I don't blame Fred and Gloria for wanting to lay in the sun. :)
ReplyDeleteWoofs & hugs, <3
~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl!)
Burgers and Sun? I am so there! Looks like the whole family had a wonderful day. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like summer in March...burgers and sun. You get the best pictures of the doggies (oh and burgers too!).
ReplyDeleteWe took all three dogs on a walk yesterday and they were dying from the heat. Even though they don't have their usual winter coats, it was still too much for the coats they have. Needless to say, it was a short walk. Thunder was like...is that IT?
They are just chock full of bassetude!
ReplyDeleteGrilled burgers sound yummy!!!
I think you captured the day perfectly! We are unseasonably too. Grilled hamburgers sound so good!
ReplyDeleteBWhahahahahahaha...OH Fred how I loves you! You is a freakin' hoot! You has da bestest attitude in my book.
ReplyDeleteYa'll gots any burgers left? You knows they starve me over heres.
Puddles
What a perfect day!!! Ending with burgers on the grill has got to be the best, whether you have two or four legs!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteI've tried and tried to express myself like Fred. My Human says I just don't have the depth of feeling to do so. :( Is she insulting me?
Y'all come back now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Yeah! looks like its spring...burgers, grill ahhh
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect day. I love that that picture of Freddie - what an intense look, must be waiting for the burgers to be done. I'd have more than dust to brush of my bbq - we got more snow last night.
ReplyDeleteAnother Blue Willow fan! That's what I have...oh the burgers..yum. BBQ time yeah! We're back in the rain, all week :( I was just getting use to some nice Spring weather and poof all gone. You enjoy your warmth and lazing in the sun. That sounds great.
ReplyDeletePut on a few more burgers, we are coming over!
ReplyDeleteNina, Myshka, Sasha, Betsy, Lucy, Phoebe and Lily

ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
My Rose, the BEAUTIFULLY UNIQUE Beagle cross, or "Shepherd-Hound", as I like to call her, would love a taste of those burgers!! ;op
