Tagged

Our pal Goose over at The Gospel of Goose tagged us to answer a few questions. So without further ado here we go....

1.  Describe yourself in 7 words.
Freddie - cute, funny, kleptomaniac, spoiled, cuddly, stubborn and did I say cute?
Gloria - devoted, cuddly, easy (no I don't mean that kind of easy!) spoiled, sweet, loyal, tattletale
BM - procrastinator, worrier, funny, modest, homebody, devoted, menopausal

2. What keeps you up at night?
Freddie - Glorias farting
Gloria - gas
BM - Worrying about my kids and grandkids , my blog, hot flashes and Gloria farting

3. Who would you like to be?
Freddie - myself
Gloria - Heidi Klum
BM - myself

4. What are you wearing right now?
Freddie - Detroit Lions collar.
Gloria - Seattle Seahawks collar.
BM - pj's and the housecoat that Fred keeps stealing the kleenexes out of

5. What scares you?
Freddie - being without food
Gloria - When Momma leaves without me and any loud noise.
BM - heights, airplanes, the thought of something happening to family

6. The best and worst of blogging.
The best is all the blogger friends we've met and all the laughs and daily inspiration they have given us.
The worst is all the loss and heartache that some of our blogger friends have to go through and like Goose not having enough time to keep up and comment on all the blogs we want to.

7. The last website I visited.
Gospel of Goose to get these questions.

8. What is one thing I would change about myself.
Freddie - Nothing. I'm perfect!
Gloria - Stop eating poop.
BM - Try to be a better person

9. Slankets yes or no.
Freddie - Is it chewable?
Gloria - no
BM - no

10. Tell us something about the dog that tagged you.
Goose is a fun loving guy we'd love to hang out with. He goes on lots of adventures with his Momma and his friend Bert. He even goes to church! He's very athletic and energetic for a guy who's 12 and looks great for his age. Freddie's only going on two and I think Goose could wear him out! So we'll stick to dreaming of jumping fences like Goose and reading about it on his blog!

Okay we're supposed to tag 8 other bloggers 'cause thems the rules. There's no pressure, so just join in the fun if you like.

What Gloria Done Did

Gloria was the one in a mood today. Every time I looked at her from the kitchen she'd assume the play stance with her head on the floor and her butt in the air and bark at me. When I'd try to get a picture, she'd run up to me so I couldn't get the shot. So, I took her outside to play. Fred finally trotted along and she was the one who pounced on him. Freddie just seemed pooped and wasn't interested in playing. (What's up with that?) So Gloria just rolled around by herself for a bit.

I tried to tell her it wasn't very lady like, but what else is a Momma to do when her little girl is sprawled out on the grass rolling around with her feet in the air!

Then after a quiet moment with Fred.....

"I love ya Freddie" "I love ya Gloria"

They came back in the house and assumed their positions.

Freddie on his, I mean, our couch

and Gloria on her bed.

After a few minutes Freddie jumped down and stretched out on the floor and then I couldn't believe my eyes. Gloria, actually got up and struggled her way onto the couch! I say struggle because it wasn't like she gracefully jumped up or anything, it was more like a person trying to climb into a boat they have fallen out of and maybe banged their head. I was shocked! Freddie was shocked! He looked up at her and said.....

"What the f#*@k, Gloria?"

You have to realize that she has never done this before. Freddie's the one who rules the furniture. What a rebel! It wasn't a pretty sight watching her get on that couch but I was quietly routing for her. ("Come on!You can do it!) Then, when she finally made it, I actually think she thought she might be in trouble as she wouldn't look at me when I talked to her.

"Gloria" "Gloria"

"OMG! What have I done?" "Just look away, pretend I can't hear Momma, that's what Freddie does."

Then she just said "Screw it" and curled up and went to sleep.

And that's what Gloria done did!

Rawhide

One of the ongoing dilemmas with Fred and Gloria is their rawhide bones. No matter how many they have laying around they always want the rawhide chew that the other one has. Maybe it just tastes better with someone else's slobber on it. I don't know and for obvious reasons, will never know. Gloria always wins out and has the "favourite" rawhide, well, 'cause she can just get down right nasty when it comes to defending the rawhide. Becki at Autumn Blaze Bassets already warned us when we got her that she really defends her rawhide. Most times she just gives ole Freddie "the look" and he backs off and just sits and whines. If your a female of any age you all know what "look" I'm talking about. I think all women are just born knowing how to give "the look".

Here Fred tries to distract Gloria with a tickle fight.

He tries to keep her mind off the slippery, slimy rawhide.

"Oh Gloria, your so much fun!" "I just love playing with you......blah,blah, blah."

When she is finally distracted...............

.....he moves in on the rawhide.

"Got it!"

"Gloria!" "Gloria!" (whine, whine) "Don't look at me that way!"

"Mommmmmm!"

"Rats....I'm going to eat some dirt!"

SunButter

My new best friend.

I got some SunButter to try since my granddaughter has a peanut allergy(check out my daughters blog at yeewittlethings.blogspot.com )and we no longer keep any peanut products in our house. So yesterday I tried making some "SunButter Cups" instead of peanut butter cups. I didn't know what to expect when I first tried the SunButter, but holy cow! It smells like peanut butter, looks like peanut butter and even tastes like peanut butter with a hint of roasted sunflower seeds. This stuff is amazing! How wonderful for people with peanut allergies! It was great on toast and very easy to use in the SunButter cups I made which turned out FANTASTIC! I just love it when I find a great product like this. I don't know why it isn't eaten by more people even if you don't have a peanut allergy and especially if you love sunflower seeds like me! You can check out the SunButter site at sunbutter.com
Lots of information there including where to purchase and recipes like this one.

I kinda tweeked the recipe from the Sunbutter website a bit. Here's what I used and next time I will cut the amount of filling in half as I made twelve "Sun Cups" in large muffin liners and still have half of the filling left. I would have made more but I ran out of chocolate.

12 Large paper muffin liners
8 oz. Bakers semi-sweet chocolate
1 cup of sunbutter, well stirred
1 cup sifted icing sugar

Chop chocolate and melt in double boiler, shut off and leave over steam, this will keep it warm. Put a teaspoon of chocolate in the bottom of each paper liner spreading up sides a little.

Put in fridge to harden. About ten minutes. Meanwhile, mix SunButter and icing sugar.

I did this in my Kitchen Aid bowl with the paddle attatchment. Mixture will be stiff. Transfer to a microwave safe bowl and warm in microwave to soften.Put a teaspoon of this mixture on top of the chocolate and put back in the fridge for an hour to set up a bit.

Remove and spoon another teaspoon of chocolate over top of each. Remember, your chocolate should still be melted as it is over the warm water. Put back in the fridge to set another 5-10 minutes and enjoy!

It's a wonderful thing!

And it all came about because of this little sweetie!
