Oh yes, Saturday she managed to sniff out one small turd.
Then proceeded to have a regular roll fest in it.
She was having so much fun there was just no stopping her.
She had a regular ole turd dance going on!
Yea, go ahead and try to shake it off. That's right poo sticks to fur like glue so guess who had a bath!
"Sorry Freddie but turd rules."
"Ooooooh, look at me! I'm rolling in turd!"
"Give it up Freddie. It's not going to work."
You'll notice Freddie isn't wearing a collar. You see the rust color on his neck? He also has it (but darker, almost black) in his arm pits and the same on his back inner thighs. I have taken him off of the glucosamine as that is when it seemed to start. Of course it is itchy too! It almost looks like a yeast infection and I wondered if it was an allergic reaction to the glucosamine. Has anybody else had this issue? For right now we have him just on the wild salmon oil until he sees the vet next Saturday when he goes to get his nail trimmed.
Oh poor Freddie. We hope it gets sorted out. BOL Gloria is a real poop fetisher. Have a lovely Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Wow Gloria is really into turd rolling! BTW. Neither Flynn nor I ever had a reaction to glucosamine. Are you using human or animal variety? Don't know what the difference is, but a change might help.... I have the human stuff. Deccy x
ReplyDeleteThat's some pawerful pawfume you got there Gloria :P I have never rolled in poo. I feel deprived. I have however eaten poo - yap the kitteh kind. Just somethin real tasty about their poo. Mom does not like it when I eat their poo. If she catches me at it, she yell drop it! Butt I'm like uh no. This is really nommers Mom. Then she like opens my mouth and dumps it out :( Heh Heh Heh one time I was nommin on some really fresh stuff and when she tried to get it out of my mouth it got all over her hand. Hardy Har Har she walked us home sayin HBO words and tryin real hard not to retch. Serves her right I'm thinkin. Takin away kitteh cookies is a crime! ;)
ReplyDeleteWaggin at ya,
Roo
Ewww Gloria - you will never get a boyfriend with eau de turd perfame , or maybe you will!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't noticed any marks with Dip's glucosamine.
Lynne x
Poor Freddie. Sorry to hear about the reaction. I think anyone can have an allergic reaction glucosamine. And Gloria...just when I though you never really caused much mischief. Poo definitely qualifies as mischief whether it is eaten or rolled in. teehee
ReplyDeleteI understand Gloria, kinda, when I sniff out rabbit turds outside, I eat them! BOL
ReplyDeleteFreddie, feel better buddy!
Lovies, Miss Mindy
Eeek rolling in poo is the worst. Many years ago when Norbert was young, about 2, so at least 8 years ago and we lived in Manhattan we were walking in central par and he rolled in a big pile of horse poo. I had to walk him back about an hour ot our apartment and then take him up in the elevator before giving him a bath in our tiny apartment tub
ReplyDeleteurban hounds
We're rolling on the floor here doing our own turd dance in honor of your post. We loved watching Gloria doing her dance but giggled even more when Fred just had to get into the action! Now that's a comedy duo if I've seen one. Reminds me of Lucy and Ricky!
ReplyDeleteHope that Mama has a turd free day today!
Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin
Watch out, Freddie! Mom might throw you in the bathtub too!
ReplyDeleteGloria, if you love rolling in turds, do it where Mama can't see, ok!
What fun! When we went to Wolf Park and watched the wolves with the bison herd, that's one of the first things they did...roll in the bison poop. Gloria is channeling her inner wolf. Freddie, I think you looked pretty mischievious so I'm glad your mom put a couple pics of you in the post too.
ReplyDeleteTurdy Rules!!! Well, I'm sorry to hear that. But it seems that Freddie's condition is a lot more manageable than it previously was. Sorry Buddy, the only mischief you'll be getting yourself into is your meds.
ReplyDeleteHuggies and Cheese,
Haopee
Too bad Gloria had a bath for turd rolling. LOL
ReplyDeleteRoxy is allergic to glucosimine, she gets puffy and has a hard time breathing. Like I mentioned before, the salmon oil made her fat, so the vet said none of that. She gets coconut oil now, but her condition is not as severe as Freddy's.
oh that is too funny how they roll around on their own poo! i think my two are poo-phobic because if there happens to be a poo or two on our lawn and their toy lands in the general area they wont go near the toy, lol. i'm sure it's been suggested, not sure if you've tried it but have you tried adding pineapple to their diet?? I just saw it on an episode of 'it's me or the dog' and the people's pugs were eating each other's poo. Oh, we have not had a problem with glucosamine. I give Yuki and Rocket Blue Bones by Blue Buffalo for their breath, and I know that's one of the main ingredients. Maybe it's because it's not the only ingredient, so it's not as concentrated??
ReplyDeleteGloria....you really like that, huh? To each our own, right?
ReplyDeleteIt is always something, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteMy first Golden had a thing for rolling in dead things, which, since we never put her on leash and spent a lot of time out in the desert happened A LOT. Poop is bad, but there is nothing worse than trying to wash dead out of long fur!
Sam
Go Gloria Go. Violet likes to play with frozen poop. I even made a little song about it. sing it to Jingle Bells.
ReplyDelete'Frozen poop, Frozen Poop, I love you so'
I love you so - Fooz -en Poop.
I like to
throw you
up in the air.
It's my Frozennnnn Poooooppppp.
Julie
Good try Freddie - you can't have Gloria taking all the limelight, right?! At least your Mischief didn't cost you a bath!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your itches go away buddy,
Your pal Snoopy :)
Well we have one turd eater in our family but no rollers. Thank goodness. I finally got some little pills from Walmart that I put in their foods. It has helped some with Amiee eating turds but sometimes I guess the smell just gets her taste buds going sometimes. Amiee is my only turd eater and it is so gross.
ReplyDeleteWe have to tell you Cleo had them armpit stains when she was with us. But we found hers was from the shelter leaving her harness on 24x7. Then the harness we got her her for walks would rub on it. She always had dirty arm pits and we were always just washing them off a lot especially in the summer time. I never related it to a yeast infection because it never had an odor to it. We hope Fred gets his spots cleared up soon. Poor boy is having a heck of the time then Gloria steals the limelight on Monday Morning with eating and rolling in Poop. Poor Fred. Sniffs, The HoundDogs
I feel your pain about the poop. Lightning does the same thing...I don't know how many times over the weekend I stuck my head out the door and yelled "LIGHTNING!!! Stop That!" I sounded like my neighbors yelling at their 2 year old toddler.
ReplyDeleteWe got a lot of stink rolling going on here too, if it stinks they roll in it, lol!
ReplyDeletePoor Freddie - reactions to glucosamine seem pretty rare but I think anyone or any dog can have sensitivities to certain supplements. The only thing I've heard of is if there is a severe allergy to shellfish although the supplement is derived from the shell not the flesh or that glucosamine might affect blood sugar levels as it is a type of sugar - doesn't really sound like what Freddie has though? Hope you can get an alternative or some advice from the vet - Leigh (Magic's Mum)
ReplyDeleteGloria...you are the girl for me! I LOVE rolling and the cherry on top is when I get to roll in something particularly aromatic!
ReplyDeleteArooo,
Sammy
PeeS: we hope Freddie's itch clears up soon
Gloria, I can't say much...I love deer turd rolling!! Sorry Freddie, sometimes Miss Goodie Two Shoes needs the Monday Mischief spotlight! I was beginning to think she never gets into trouble!!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
For Missy it's off to the cow manure. It must be something in the dog code book.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of a dog allergic to glucosamine, but it is possible. I would think it more likely to be an allergy to an ingredient in the pill, rather than the glucosamine itself.
ReplyDeleteOh yes the mischief goes to Gloria, paws down. I my self an not much for rolling in poo but she does make it look inviting. Freddie you crack me up, "Ooo look at me". Bawhahhaha
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
I agree with Goose...the mischief award goes to Gloria although Freddie did try his best to win! My coon hound, Daisy, loves to roll on the ground whenever she can and I'm never happy about it because she smells horrible afterwards!
ReplyDeleteCat poo is quite tasty too
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Groaned out loud at Gloria's turd dance... but must admit it was fun to see her having such a good time! lol Not at all glad to hear Fred's got a problem... have never heard of a reaction to the glucosamine, but I'm sure it's possible. Looking forward to hearing what your vet says.
ReplyDeleteHey Gloria, Hey Fred, Jet here.
ReplyDeleteGloria, you rank right up there! We think you should get recognized for your drop and roll... what do you think of Gloria's Turdilicious Drop and Roll?
Freddie, Dude, you were simply outclassed this week!
Sorry about Freddie's reaction, hope it improves speedy quick.
Nothing like a good smelly poo roll - except for the bath afterwards.....Reilly too had that kind of reaction - but his was just from wearing a collar. The only time he ever wears one now is when we go out - around home he never has it it on - but all our doggies are micro-chipped so we feel safe about that.
ReplyDeleteEw, Boston does that too! So nasty.
ReplyDeletePoor Freddie! No experience, but it does look like a yeast infection
Nola's Mom
Hope you'll get better soon Freddie :) and then you can roll on poo like Glosria :)
ReplyDeleteHope Freddie is not to itchy and Gloria is such a naughty puppy! Our pug would never do that... well not while is is cold out side!!!
ReplyDeleteIvan
Fox poo! That's pawsome. I wish I had some fox poo in my garden to make me smell nice *runs off to check* ... nope!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Freddie is still itching. Maybe he needs a fox poo bath. *wag wag wag*
Oh man, Gloria...that's a little gross, but funny too! I myself, started to roll in bird poop just recently! I think it's funny, while Domeek...well, let's just say, doesn't! I've been on glucosamine for about three weeks and haven't experienced anything like poor Freddie, but I'm sure it will clear up soon!
ReplyDeleteEwwww Gloria! Now THAT's "Dirty Dancing" LOL.
ReplyDeleteRollin' in poo.....that's too funny!!! Okays, probally not to your Moms, but you certainly looks like you had a fabulous time!! Not sure if it would be worth having to take a bath thou.....
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby
People don't understand the joy of the poop rolling!
ReplyDeleteI am sure it was worth a bath!
Our cat had glucosamine for a bit without a reaction. He had to stop when his kidneys got sick (cause he is old). We hope Freddie isn't too itchy for long.
Lee and Phod
Silly Gloria! (maybe she secretly likes baths?). Saw a license plate cover that said "I love my Bassethound" this weekend and thought of you ;)
ReplyDeleteRoxy rolled in something DISGUSTING (HER word) this morning and got blasted with the hose when we got home! She never learns.
ReplyDeletePoor Freddie, he's having a tough time of it.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
I like to roll in the smelly stuff, i call it Eau de poop.
ReplyDeleteSheba.
Gloria - stop it! Stanley will eat poo but lately has been resisting. But now Freddie is the innocent one!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Gloria, Gloria, Gloria....did Freddie tell you to do it so he wouldn't get busted for knocking over the air cleaner???
ReplyDeleteP.s. I was awake at 3 this morning due to you know what.....where is that menopause blog?? :) LOL
Yes, turds rule!!! I think that rolling is worse than eating... but I'd rather not think about either! That was quite a dance!
ReplyDeleteAs for Freddie, I've never seen anything like that so I'm no help. I thought that my pups had experienced every conceivable veterinary problem. I guess I was wrong. I hope that Freddie gets better soon.
Poor Freddie. I hope the itches go away soon and the vet will have an explanation about what caused this.
ReplyDeletePat
Critter Alley
I apologize for laughing, but I just couldn't help it! I've never heard of a reaction like that to glucosamine, and we've had four different dogs on it, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's how Gloria keeps her coat so nice. She has discovered the secret of rolling in turds to give it a healthy sheen lol.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I have no clue about Freddie. Hope the vet has answers!
LOL! Turd rules! Ha-ha! I can't get past that!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I don't know, which one is worse, the rolling or the eating??
ReplyDeleteFunny pics. She sure was having a good time!
We started to give our pup fish oil recently, but haven't noticed anything odd.
Oh my! They sure do love being stinky :) I've never heard of glucosamine causing something like that, I'll be interested to hear what the vet has to say!
ReplyDeleteWe're not much for rolling in poo, mom is happy about that. Her last dog loved to eat rabbit poo and roll in sheep poo - both made her really mad. My sister doesn't roll in anything, I find some stuff mom can't see on occasion but it is lots of fun to roll around and get all dirty and smelly. Hope that allergy thing goes away too, sounds ugly.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy eating and rolling in fox poo myself! :-)
ReplyDeleteaargh stinky rollies! My pups aren't too enthusiastic about rolling in poo generally but if there's something dead--watch out! Those dogs can be so gnarly.
ReplyDeleteTurd rules over ANY mischief that is for sure!! Hoping Freddie's skin irritation clears up...could be from the meds
ReplyDeleteHowdy Basset Momma, just be thankful Rory isn't living with Gloria cause then she would have a lot more poo to enjoy!! Looks like she's having a ball though as stinky as it is. Sorry Freddie has more itchy parts. We hope your Vet has some more ideas to help him. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeletePOOPER HOUNDS! I don't understand why our people don't like eu de poo?!
ReplyDeleteslobbers
Gloria! That is NOT very lady-like. BOL
ReplyDeleteWyatt
Gloria, you stink Gal..BOL You are now voted the best TURD roller in blogville. BOL. XX00XX
ReplyDeleteMollie and Alfie
Love the dogging wag dance! Lucky you on finding some poo! It just makes us want to dance!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just have to roll!
ReplyDeletenothing better than a good turd roll, stormy loves to roll in worm poo, i know what a wierdo right!!?!?!!
ReplyDeleteCharlene and Stormy
xxx
LOL Oh Gloria, my Zoe would definitely love to join you in a good turd roll.
ReplyDeleteEating poo is DEFINITELY better than rolling in it. And that's weird, the reaction to glucosamine. Hoping the salmon oil is enough, or that you find a way around the allergy. Capsule coating on that brand, maybe?
ReplyDelete
