In keeping with my new motto of trying to stay up to date on awards when I receive them, I'm here to share one of two wonderful awards that have been bestowed on us in the last couple of weeks. The one I'm sharing today is the "One Lovely Blog Award" and it comes form Sue over at Talking Dogs . Thanks for thinking of us. If you haven't visited Talking Dogs yet it is a definite must. Not only does she share stories of her lovable duo Jeffie and Rudy which sometimes may involve Skeeter her cat, but she also spreads the word for pet adoption and you won't want to miss her Dog Song Saturdays. To top it all off she has some of the most amazing hand made pet inspired jewelry to offer at For Love of a Dog which supports numerous dog rescues. Having designed custom made bracelets for Rachael Ray and Ryan Gosling, these works of art are mostly one of a kind.
The rules -
* Thank the blogger bestowing the ward and provide a link back to their blog.
* Share 7 things about yourself
* Share the award with 7 other bloggers
Seven things about me
1. I love salty and savory
2. I used to love scary movies, but as I've gotten older I find I can't watch them anymore. There too scary!
3. I love to cook and I love to eat. (hmmm....could be a problem)
4. It used to drive me crazy because my Mother was a pack rat.
5. I am now a pack rat.
6. I love the old classic movies from 1937-1960.
7. I think I was born in the wrong era, which could explain #6.
Now pick 7 other bloggers to pass the award to. I always hate this part because it is so hard to pick just a select few out of all the wonderful blogs I read. But here's my list.
My Brown Newfies
Urban Hounds
Life in the Dog House
My Girlz Got Paws
Gospel of Goose
What Remains Now
Rumpydog
So there they are in no particular order and I don't want anyone of them to feel pressured by this award. I know blogging takes a lot of time on top of daily life. So I won't tell if anyone cheats! :)
I hope to get to the award we received from Daisy over at Everyday Adventures in Havachon Heaven in the next week.
Now, on to my "awwwwe" moment.
Yesterday I was working in the kitchen when I heard Fred start whimpering. This wasn't his spoiled "quit ignoring me and come pet me" whine, this was a heartfelt whimper. So I went looking for him and found him staring at something in the spare room. It was one of our regular pillows that I stashed there so hubby can use it if he goes out to the couch if Freddie's keeping him up. At first I thought there was a toy under the pillow or something, but soon realized he wanted the extra pillow to lay on. I carried it out to the living room. He followed me and climbed right up onto it when I put it on the couch. I know I seem to be emotional right now but it really did tug at my heart.
Then of course his side kick joined him.
Awwwwe!
Then of course his side kick joined him.
Double awwwwe!!
Oh, and don't tell my hubby that Freddie slobbered on his pillow!
Have a terrific weekend everyone!!
P.S. - If you love Johnny Depp. Pop over to my daughters blog Yee Wittle Things. She's having a giveaway for a Dark Shadows Blue-ray combo pack! That's his new movie that just came out October 2nd. You can click here to go and enter. Good luck!
I've got a few awards I need to post - I am very bad at it! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
Sam
Congrats on the awards!! That's hilarious that you're now a pack rat like Grandma was! Like mother, like daughter ;) Uh oh...what does that mean for me??
ReplyDeleteAnd AWWWW is right! That's so cute that he wanted the pillow. I bet it does feel good on his hip and help relieve some pressure. Whatever works for him and makes him comfy :) I might have to break the news to dad about "his" pillow during Thanksgiving dinner...when his belly is full and he's content lol ;)
I think Freddie is a very clever dog, and he trained you well...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your award and thanks for thinking of me. I'm not too good at re-posting those awards (computer challenged :) but I will give it a whirl.
ReplyDeleteFreddie does have his momma trained, but heck that's what mommas are for--right!! getting the comfy pillow for them. Gotta admit early this a.m. gracie was cold and whining, so I threw her into bed with us, didn't take her long to snuggle under the covers and make herself right at home. YES, whining does work :)
Awwwe, very cute pictures. It's heartbreaking when the furbabies aren't doing so well, ya just wanna make them better. Congrats on the award! and your secret is safe with us!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your cool award. Freddie is allowed to slobber wherever he wants
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Congratulation on the award. Freddie wanting the pillow is so sweet and so clever. He must have felt it would make him more comfortable. Bless him, we think about him often. Poor lamb. Have a fabulous Friday if you can.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Congrats on your award - what is a pack rat? Sounds funny, whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteAww, poor Fred, he is tugging on my heart strings from 6000 miles away. I feel for him and you, I really do.
Nobody's going to tell Dad, okay Fred.
Dip Bridge and Elliot x

Congratulations on your award and thank you so much for thinking of us! I loved your 7 things! I am a lover of salty things too-especially after I eat chocolate!
ReplyDeleteTriple awwwwww on Freddie! Hugs to him!
Aw, you definitely deserve that award! Congratulations! :-D That is such an "awwww" photo of Freddie (he looks like he's feeling very sorry for himself). Hopefully the pillows help (at least emotionally) him feel better!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for saying such (VERY) nice things about me! Loved your 7 things. It's suddenly very cold and rainy here... I'm headed to make some popcorn so Jeffie, Rudy and I can relax and watch a retro movie together. Wish you were here :-)
ReplyDeleteLoved your awwww moment. Freddie is such a sweetie. What's a little pup slobber on a pillow. LOL
Awwww, love him! He deserves to borrow dad's pillow, poor guy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet picture
ReplyDeleteurban hounds
That is very sweet! There is something about a dog who loves his pillows; I get all emotional when I see my boys lying on theirs too.
ReplyDeleteFreddie is so cute. We're glad he got his dad's pillow..must be comforting as well.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
WOW THANKS!! And congrats on recieving this award as well. You are very deserving. Emotinalr not that is a AWWWW moment in my book. And I think slobbers is just a damp "I Love You."
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Congratulations on the awards, and yes.....AWWWWWWWWW! Our Annie has a similar behavior when it comes to clean cold water. If she doesn't see the water come out of the water dispenser with her own eyes, she won't drink it and whines until the dish is filled with the fresh cold water. Normally this is fine but when she wakes me up at 2:30 in the morning to drink water, I could just about strangle her!
ReplyDeleteAwe Freddie.......want some more pillows? I will share mine.
ReplyDeleteLovies, Miss Mindy
It is true, there is no way you could resist that little face, I bet he gets more than pillows with that act.
ReplyDeleteLove
Bert and My Vickie

First, congratulations on the award! So you are a pack rat, are you?! Ron thinks I am but I refuse to even consider that thought!! lol
ReplyDeleteFreddie so knows what he needs and you so know him so well! This was a sweet moment for you both! And then Gloria!! I can't take this!!
Those are true AWWW moments - dear Fred, able to let you know just what he needs and Gloria stepping in to watch over her brother.
ReplyDeleteYou are right...that is an awwww moment and a double awwwww moment. Thank you for the award! I am honored to be picked.
