So I tried.
"Freddie, come on lets go out and play for a bit."
"Oh, is my mail out there?"
"No, remember there was no mail."
"Oh, than okay Momma, NOT!"
Yes, he was starting to get a little nasty about it, so I decided to just let him wallow in his pity and sleep it off.
So he went from the couch to the chair that night
and slept by the door waiting for the next day to see what Liz the mail lady would bring. I know, he looks pretty down there, doesn't he.
Lo and behold yesterday Fred and Gloria got more Christmas cards. They even got a card from Liz the mail lady!
And after rejoicing and reading all the cards to Gloria ('cause she can't read) ...........
Freddie Spaghetti passed out from sheer joy!
Hallelujah!!
Poor Fred. I hope you're preparing him for the let-down after the holidays. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteI love the exchange

Mail is an important part of the day. Roxy and Torrey like walking down the street to pick it up, even after walking miles earlier in the day.
