Yes, I have four kinds of hot to talk about. Hopefully this post doesn't seem to long, but we start our two weeks holidays tomorrow and I probably won't be posting much, if at all until after holidays. I will try to get around to visit blogs when I get a chance or am up at night (like now) unable to sleep. Oh, don't worry I'm not going to go into the whole menopause thingy again. ( I think I just did! hee, hee) I also want to stay on top of the events of the Blogville Olympics when they start on July 27th.
Hot #1 - An Award
Our friend Daisy over at Everyday Adventures in Havachon Heaven has given us the Blog on Fire Award. We are truly honored to receive this award from Daisy. Daisy is a Havachon and just the cutest little furball who is always up to some kind of mischief. I had never heard of a Havachon until I met Daisy in Blogville. So if you haven't met her yet, pop on over to Everyday Adventures in Havachon Heaven and see what she's up to! I am breaking the rules on this one, so if you do want to see them just check them out when your visiting Daisy.
Thanks again Daisy!
Hot #2 - Asphalt
The next thing I wanted to say is that the noise has stopped! They have finally paved our road.
Look at this bad boy. They even carry their coolers around on it.
Loading it up with hot asphalt.
Boy that's got to be hot work considering it was 100 degrees out the day they were doing it.
Ta Da!
The finished product. Our street!
Hot#3 - Tickets
They're here..............
Yep, our Detroit Lions Season's Tickets arrived! I love the way they have a picture of one of the players on every ticket this year. You probably can't tell, but game 6 they play hubby's beloved Seahawks. Boy we can't wait for that game. It only happens about every 7 years. Actually the Seattle Seahawks are playing the Buffalo Bills in Toronto in December this year too.
Hot #4 - Weather
Finally, with all this heat we've been having and no rain our lawn is just about toast. Toasty, really. It crunches under your feet. The hounds have one particular dead spot they like to lay in and roll around.
I guess dry grass makes for a good back scratcher. But yesterday not only did the air conditioner actually shut off but we got some rain. Yay! Not as much as we'd like but at least it was something. Just think, all this just before we start holidays!
So keep enjoying your summer, try to stay cool and I'll see ya back here in a couple of weeks!
Congrats on the award. Have a lovely holiday. love Deccy (amphibian greyhound - glug!) x
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award. It must have been nice to finally see the end of all the work but your street looks great! Enjoy your game and the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteDip Bridge and Elliot x
have a great holiday guys, hope you take lots of pics so you can show us what youve been up to while we've been sat in a ball crying cos we missed you so much xxx you must be so glad the roadwork is finally done, i bet that was such a pain, my mums road is being done right now and it takes me ages to get down her road with the stupid traffic lights. fingers crossed you get some of our rain cos i am totally sick of the wet stuff. aparently our summer is starting at the weekend so maybe thats your sunshine coming our way :)
ReplyDeletexxx
Have a terrific holiday! Oh, we can't even think about the heat!! Those poor guys who were doing the street!! Our yard is toast as well. Maybe it will cool off this week. Congratulations on your award!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug
ReplyDeleteThat seems like a marathon long time for your street to be fixed!!! You must be relieved. We could do with a little heat over here.....our winter is being particularly chilly this year!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award....it's nice to see one that we have not seen before. Enjoy your holidays.
Rubie's mum xxx
This is just a "good news" post! I hope you have a lovely, lovely holiday. Can't wait to hear about your adventures.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your award and your vacation! I was wondering how the road construction was coming. So glad it is finally finished. It is hard to believe that football season is right around the corner. At least Ford Field is climate controlled...lol.
ReplyDeleteHave a good holiday! I will miss Fred and Gloria pictures though.
Our lawn is suffering the same fate - crunchy munchy when we walk on it....our Mom is shuddering at the asphalt work - one thing she REALLY hates is the smell of asphalt when they are putting it down.
ReplyDeleteHave a great few weeks off and keep cool!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your award too!
Well even though this is a HOT X's 4 post... I gotta say it is really COOL DROOL.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break! Rain is a huge help--its a bit cooler here after a big storm last night.

ReplyDeleteThose are some pretty hot items! (including the "M" one you didn't talk about that I SO think is not so hot for being hot! That's one hot I could do without. Well, I could do without the hot weather too!) Great weather shot - love the belly to the heavens! Stay cool! And your street looks great!

ReplyDeleteLots of excitement! We had players on our hockey season seats last year- just makes it a bit more fun eh? ;)
ReplyDeleteHopefully it cools down soon so you can go for a walk on your new road!
Wow, you must be very busy right now, BM. I'm familiar with not being able to sleep at night and turning to my bloggy friends to help de-stress me too.
ReplyDeleteYay! Aircon, Rain and Fixed Roads!
Have a fun two week holiday. I will be doing some leave of absence as well next week.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee
Enjoy your holiday! I know about crunchy yards. I also have a "dead zone" in the middle of the back yard. Fortunately we've recently gotten a couple of good rains so the grass has started to come back.
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday and STAY cool!! BTW, deaded grass is the bestest back scratcher!!!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
Well, that's one way to have a positive outlook on dead grass. The next time hubby asks me to scatch his back I will refer him to the yard lol. Have a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday! The doggies sure look comfortable sunbathing!
ReplyDeleteWe have been lucky here and have been having some clouds form in the afternoons, and sometimes we get a bit of rain. Nothing spectacular, but every little bit helps.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your holidays!
I am glad they finished your street. It will be nice to get back to some piece and quiet.
ReplyDeleteWOO HOO for Dad starting his holidays! And YAY for your Detroit tickets coming...that's so neat that they have a picture of each player on them :) Our grass is toasty too....WAY too toasty lol. I hope we get lots of rain soon :S Have fun on your holidays with dad!! xoxo Fred & Gloria better behave ;) lol

ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend
Sweet William The Scot
Have a great holiday. I'm so glad that the noise of paving has died down for you. Now, let it rain! It's finally started raining consistently here but it could take a very long time to make up for all the snow/rain we missed.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you're having fun on holiday!
Yikes! That's Texas weather, and it seems we are all wishing for cooler weather right now.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your Holiday!
Hope you are having a really good holiday and it is not so hot!
ReplyDeleteStay cool.
Molly, Taffy, Monty and Winnie

ReplyDeleteGreat seeing you again! It's been hot here too!
ReplyDeleteI'm late, but congrats on your award! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is one mother beautiful machine for pouring asphalt! Certainly not jealous of the men running that behemoth in the heat. And your yard looks like mine, sadly. This heat is INSANE.
ReplyDeleteIt's hot here too! My grass is dormant as well. The only green spot is where the kiddie pool sits. Hope you're having a great summer holiday!
ReplyDeleteThat is ALL kinds of hot, those work men did a good job considering the heat.
ReplyDeleteHave a FANTASTIC holiday, we will see you when you get back
