Menopause Moment and a Full Moon

I normally don't post on the weekends, but since it's 2:30 in the morning and I'm up, what the heck. It's officially October 28th and our 29th Wedding Anniversary.  Steve and I are still going strong after all these years.  It's the subtle little things that happen between us that let us know we still mesh.  Before I sat down here to do a post, I went in and filled hubby's water glass he keeps beside the bed. He woke up long enough to look at me and say, "Thanks dearie".  That's one of the reasons why I love this guy so much! The little things. In the morning he's off to Detroit as his beloved Seahawks are playing the Lions and this only happens  in Detroit every 6 or 7 years.  I will be staying home as I just don't want to leave Freddie for a whole day.  I worry too much and then it's not enjoyable.  So I will use the time to prepare a romantic dinner for when hubby gets home and maybe get some crocheting done.

Back to my menopause moment.  I'm up, I take the hounds out to pee and I see we have a full moon.  The hounds come in and do this........

I took these without the flash because I didn't want to wake the babies.

I grab my camera and head out front in my housecoat and slippers and take pictures of this beautiful moon. Sometimes I do wonder what the neighbors think if they see these flashes at 2:00 a.m.

I really like these two with our tree branches.

This one just looks like it's holding the moon.

I didn't know we were going to have a full moon tonight. I don't know much about this full moon so I will have to head over to Remington's RRC and see what I can find out.  He usually has all the information on these full moons.

As for my menopause keeping me up, I'm trying to look at the positive aspect.  If I wasn't up right now I would have missed this beautiful full moon and if it wasn't for hot flashes I wouldn't have this dewy glow! LOL!

Well, I'm off to catch up on some blog reading. :)

  1. SHE would love to be able to curl up and sleep after every time SHE awakes during the night--we just ignore her.

Beautiful moon pictures. We saw the light last night, but just closed doors to keep it out....obviously we missed something.

  5. Mom has not slept through the night for so long - She almost always wakes up at 4 but she tries not to actually get up until 5:30 or 6. I myself sleep soundly but every few hours I get up and reposition myself in a different bed - maybe it is a female thing. We love early mornings with mom, gets our day off to a good start seeing things most miss because they are still in bed, the hard part is trying to stay up until at least 10 pm!

  6. Happy anniversary! Isn't it funny how the little things are the big things. Lovely, lovely pictures. Also, I wanted to tell you how much I loved your BLCS snowflake coasters. I could not get the hang of the granny squares but I'm going to keep at it. Lynne suggested YouTube tutorial videos and I think that's a great idea.

  31. Happy Anniversary! Big weekend in the Motor City. Too bad the two of you couldn't have gone to THE BIG game together, but I totally understand not wanting to leave Freddie. Looks like the Lions squeaked one out.

Beautiful pictures. I took a few of the not quite full moon a couple of nights ago. Yours came out very nice. I like the two with the tree branches.

  33. Hi Y'all!

Thanks for stoppin' so faithfully to visit.

My Human said the only solution she knows to menopause is surgery and hormone replacement at a young age. The more she sees of friends who suffer, the more she thinks what seemed disaster at the time was in the end good fortune.

Still keeping my paws crossed for you Freddie!

    Y'all come back now,

  41. Hehe, Basset Momma, mum says to give her a high five. She knows what you are talking about. Thank goodness you did get up and we got to enjoy your moon photos. They're fabulous. Our mum and dad have just reached 32 years and she feel the same as you. Only thing is she wouldn't cook a romantic dinner cause she can't cook ahahahahaha. Sorry we shouldn't laugh at mum. She tries her best! See ya soon. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  42. I love your moon photos with the branches in front. And, I love your attitude... I was tossed into sudden and unrelenting menopause by a hysterectomy. I have a hard time having the good attitude about it that you have! And, no hormones for me because the docs thought that was what probably caused my mother's fatal breast cancer. So, I have a dewy glow too!

  43. Happy, Happy Anniversary!!! Congrats on 29 years!!! Your moon pictures are just AWESOME!!! That one really does look like it is holding the moon!! We are waiting on the storm due to come tomorrow afternoon...enjoy your romantic dinner!! On a side note, I stopped in to Michael's this afternoon and the cashier and I got to talking about dogs...she happened to see my bichon keychain. I asked her what kind of dog she had. She has two bassett hounds!! One of them is named ELVIS and she said he is such a goof!! Of course, I had to tell her all about Fred and Gloria!! Small world!! So many of us love our pooches so much!! xo Jeanne, Chloe and LadyBug
