Monday Mischief - Or Not?

Nope, not much mischief went on here this Canada Day weekend.  We went swimming, had the family for barbecued  steak and crab but it was too hot for the hounds to get into any mischief.  Okay, maybe Fred still had to have his gentle leader on while the grandkids were here and Eva LongGloria did go a little wild herself; but that was it.

The grandkids enjoyed the bean bag game for a while.

Cameron got pretty good at tossing them in.

And Emma would just run up and throw the bag in the hole. hee!hee!

Then they cooled down with the pudding pops I made. (Yes, I did make them!)

But Fred and Gloria just did a lot of this.

And this.

This week is supposed to be even hotter, so there won't even be any walks for the hounds.  We'll just be spending all our time indoors.

  8. Sometimes the "slow, family weekend" type of mischief is the best! I have to remind myself that just because we had a relaxing weekend doesn't mean it wasn't an "adventure" - it was just a different kind.

  9. I feel ya with the heat. UGH! But those pudding pops look yummy, drooling just thinking about it.

We are spending a lot of time in our pool these days but the dogs are spending their time in the air conditioner!

  15. Hey Guys,

You look like very Hot Doggies - I think you need a little paddling pool?

How come you're wearing a gentle leader Freddie, did I miss that? You don't look too happy? :(

    Have fun,

    Your pal Snoopy :)

  16. That last photo of Gloria looks just like how I have been feeling all weekend. Not coz of the heat...I guess I should be happy we don't have a heat wave here in Vancouver. We just don't even have summer. Rainy and cold.

    Your grandkids are so cute.

    I'll be back,

  28. Daisy is like Gloria - heat is NOT her friend! One run around the yard is all she'll tolerate on these horribly hot and humid days. Your BBQ sounds yummy and looks like it was lots of fun! The grandkiddies are absolutely adorable. :D

  34. I think the heat has pretty much hit every where. We have not been walking much either and the hounds are beginning to protest. But when it is 91 degrees at 9:00pm it is to hot. I am thankful that we have a fenced in yard they go to and they don't have to be walked just for a potty break. Looks like you had a great time, why does Freddie need his gentle leader on? Is he a little hyper with the grandkids? Also, have you tried frozen treats for Gloria and Fred. I take lowfat yogurt (organic) and mix blueberries and then freeze them ice cube trays or disposable dixie cups. Take them out and give to the hounds on a hot day to cool them down and they love them. Stay cool and enjoy the rest of your week. Sniffs, The HoundDogs

  39. I'm glad we're not experiencing any heat waves out here. The weather has been overcast in the mornings and evenings, but beautiful through the middle of the day. I guess I can't complain and the boys are enjoying the nice weather too. I hope you get a break from the heat soon.

    Take care,
    Colby
